Smann
I raised my chiller up to 80 for the summer, how's everyones tank temp doing? If you get into a bind let me know I still have my old chiller sitting in the garage, it just needs a pump from the sump back in to run it. NoobtoSalt
Central AC hasn't changed my 78 degree tank. The horses are stilll at 72.
Islandoftiki
All is well with my tanks. Fan is keeping the 10 gallon 79 degress max. The pest tank has a chiller, so no worries. The 7.5 gallon majano tank is in the basement, so no worries there. Central AC keeps it from getting overly hot in the house.
pnkrcklives
All Cabinet doors open fans blowing. Frozen water bottles in the sump twice a day 81 degrees max.
Mike nickerson
All Cabinet doors open fans blowing. Frozen water bottles in the sump twice a day 81 degrees max. haha sounds like me although I just have my heater on a timer to shut off when halides turn on and tgen my fans turn on and that keeps it around 78 to 80 depending on the heat
Hewey McLovit
Central AC with cabinet doors wide open and fan on high. Low is 78.4 and high 80.4. No need for ice bottles yet!
pledosophy
Surprisngly, my chiller has not kicked on yet with the AC. Might be time to sell it as well. My heater in my Reef is still on.
Kimberlee
All Cabinet doors open fans blowing. Frozen water bottles in the sump twice a day 81 degrees max. You too!! fighting to keep tanks at 81degrees, but considering it's been 100 here I guess 81 isn't so bad.
stylaster
Not too bad between 80-82 degs, i dont really worry until it hits 84, then its time to break out the ice bags

Mr S
frozen 2 liter bottles definitely the way to go. Also shorter mh light period.
Hatcher2014
That's just it my halides are off all day they don't even come on
Smann
Yep, the ole water bottles work wonders, i remember doing that in the garage even with a chiller while the transition tank was out there during the remodel and new tank build. I finally figured out it was my wifes car when she came home from work and parked in the garage would raise the temp about 20 degrees so i had to ask her to park outside for the summer until the remodel and tank was done, that went over real well! Mike nickerson
Doesn't you heater turn off when it's hits a certain temp? yeah i just have it on a timer just incase since im running my halides all day
peligro
Yeah I started the water bottles today. I have my lights coming on at night when its cooler, seems to help a bit still looking for a little clip on fan to attach to the tank so I can direct it towards the halids. It's a nano so it doesn't take long for it to heat up. Any other ideas, can't really afford a chiller HTC EVO
Jeramy
I am running a small tank and bought a $9.99 clip on fan at bi-mart and it has worked wonders for keeping my temps stable =)
new2saltwater
I was gone all day week ago and the house A/C was off and the house was closed up. Tank was at 84F. I bought a cheap clip on fan and with the cabinet open i can keep it around 80F.
reefnjunkie
I think my heater is broken-DOH! on my newest addition, not the plumbed in tanks rofl Running a window A/C in the "tank room" a few hours a day keeps me at 77, but it drops at night to 76 than the heater kicks in, it has hit 78 so the LED "hope" has panned out-I was nervous selling the 1hp chiller
hobbby
No AC in the house but the sun goes behind a tree at about 2pm only got up to 81 in the house Saturday. The tank is 77 in the early morning for my low and hit a high of 81.2 on Saturday evening. At 82 I have RO/DI ice in ziploc bags ready to toss in the sump. RO/DI just in case the bag leaks.
