vanz
I was thinking of getting a pair for my return from the sump. Think these will work with some modifications? How do you attach it to a powerhead?
Nyles
I have 8 now for about a year. They work fine, I clean them about once every 3 months. With everything there is good and bad, the bad is you loose probably 20-30% of your flow but you gain redirection. To attach they come with 4 different adapters. 180Bob
I ran two for about six months. They worked fine until the internal gears started skipping and quit rotating.
mister crabs
yep....gotta keep em clean. See a ton of people with these in aquapods, nanocubes, biocubes, and other smaller nanos. Cant beat the flow redirection for 10 bux.
Nyles
My cleaning routine for these is dip in vinegar for 30 minutes to an hour then they wipe clean with a toothbrush. The biggest problem is people don't clean them and coraline and gunk builds up around the gears for $10 these are awesome if you take care of them. Its a simple piece of equipment, with maintenance its a great piece but if you don't clean your hydors will break as with anything. I just added them to my nano as well on mj1200's. impur
I run one currently and like it. It provides some flow in spots i couldn't get my seio's to blast.
siskiou
I got one in my 20H on an MJ900 and another in the 120G on an MJ1200. No problems so far and great for the price! . I clean them every few months.
tidalsculpin
They do spread flow. If you have cheap powerheads and are not ready for a seio or tunze I think they are worth it. But like anything, you get what you pay for. If you want to save for a $60 seio 1500 at SeanF's site that is six hydors. The seio would give you tons of flow and spread it out pretty well.
