nwcoralfarm
I have a friend that had to do this and to be honest with you I don't think I would pass. I helped him study and to say the least I wasn't much help.

snowpunk
Press 1 for English-(flame) lol... I'm with ya on that one. I feel that should be the test to enter or be here. It should be able to be administered anywhere at any time. Vacationers would be exempt from it. I'm tired of wasting my time listening to that spiel every time I make a call. It is the countries first language and if people can't respect that enough to learn and speak it if they intend on living here then they should go to where they can speak the language. The problem is most of the people taking this are trying to educate them selves and make the US their new home. The people I am talking about could care less because they don't intend to become citizens... End rant(for now):p I almost forgot to put in why I actually wanted to post.lol I think I could pass it no problem. There was a few I didn't remember for sure but I still knew well over the 85% I think. It would be different if I had to pass it too. I would study like crazy. Miniwhinny
I bet its offered in another language (flame) I don't think 99.999% of Americans have any idea just how hard it is to LEGALLY come here. The years of waiting, background checks, health checks, getting on a very small quota list for your given country. Having to have a certain job and education, interviews, medical tests (not to mention the cost)....etc. I would never EVER have considered coming here illegally. That's a crime - to come into another country without permission and to work and take employment from someone who belongs there is a CRIME. I get so incredibly upset over the illegal immigrant issue here. The "people just want a chance for a better lifestyle" just doesn't cut it. Gosh, the entire world wants that. Everybody wants to live in America given the chance. But America has very stringent rules on just who and how many actually get that dream. The quotas are established by the State department for a reason. TO just come here is such a slap in the face of everyone who did it the proper way and even more...it's a slap in the face of every American. Getting off my soap box
newfisher
VOTE for minywhinney ! Have you seen what it takes to become a mexican citizen? No wonder they sneak over here! Whith our current economic state, my wife and I are thinking of getting divorced, becoming mexican citizen's,sneaking back across, renting a house on a state funded plan, having a few kids with us to get the max on food stamps, send them to school and have better health coverage than we do now. I would work under the table of course and neither of us would pay taxes. We would have shut down our business before hand so we wouldn't be wrongfully taxed anymore to fund programs that fail under the current leadership. Screw working hard for you money anymore!! jgf86123
dude, i love that smiley after the i thought byrd retired section close the borders!!!!!!!! we're getting overpopulated as it is just my .02 worth or, if your going to keep the borders open, copy new zealands emigration laws, if you do not have a certain specialty, and its only like 12 or so, now mind you, my memory is shot anymore, so i could be totally off based, but, i seem to remember reading this, but, anyway, if you do not have a certain specialty out of a list of like a dozen or so, you can NOT emigrate to new zealand. Miniwhinny
if you do not have a certain specialty' date=' and its only like 12 or so, now mind you, my memory is shot anymore, so i could be totally off based, but, i seem to remember reading this, but, anyway, if you do not have a certain specialty out of a list of like a dozen or so, you can NOT emigrate to new zealand.[/quote'] That's what America has or "had" when we came here. If you didn't have a priority status like parents or siblings here already (and you STILL had to pass a strict FBI background check, medical check, education etc) then there was a list of jobs you needed to have - if your occupation wasn't on the list - you couldn't come. They were all jobs requiring quite a number of years of education to say the least. I think we should always welcome those in desperate situations (as long as they have no criminal record) because we should always have room in our hearts for those. But when people come here illegally, want us to pay for their schooling, their medical care, their housing and in some states their college years...while taking a job that someone here should be doing... oups...climbed on my soap box again - my bad :pDOH! reefnjunkie
You know the sad part is the I bet more than half of Americans would fail this I was talking about it w/ the wife, as there were a few I just could not remember 100%-granted they were taught to us growing up spanned over roughly 6 years- but when taking the test, its condensed and a cram session. So I agree a lot my not pass, but I think more has to do with what "you need to know" I have a hard time remembering the Pythagorean Theorem or the hypotenuse of an angle but you get my point-I hope The theorem is that the sum of the squares of the lengths of the sides of a right triangle is equal to the square of the length of the hypotenuse-
