downhill_biker
Those skimmers kick butt. I love my AquaC EV. I highly recommend whoever buys this to get the mag18, supply this skimmer with as much pump as you can and it will rock your world.
ciao
I'm curious, could you use a reeflo snapper for this instead?? What makes certain pumps more recommended than others other than it supplies enough water
Lowman
You could use the snapper, you will just have to put a ball valve between the pump and skimmer. It is possible to overdrive these skimmers.
ReefMe
Good choice - EV240 I recently bought my EV240 here on site, it does an incredible job. I would have bought this, thinking about buying it just to have another - I know I can use it somewhere!
Algae
Bump for a good skimmer/combo. I have it too. It will make you feel like Lawrence Welk on psychotropics. Jeeze, getting old. Wonder how many people get that? And no, I'm not going to explain it. Good choice for a skimmer!

steelhead77
I am going to be upgrading to a 180 in the next couple weeks and I am in the market for another skimmer (even got the ok from the boss (wife)). I've heard both good and bad about this skimmer. The Good: Extremely efficient; pulls out a ton of skimmate daily Built like a tank Easy to set-up and tune (and keep tuned) Does not change behavior due to changes in sump level from evap The Bad: Extremely finicky Difficult to set-up and tune (and keep tuned) Changes behavior easily due to changes in sump level from evap So, is it a good skimmer that is easy to maintain, (basically idiot proof) or is it difficult to deal with, requiring daily fiddling. I'm looking for something that will not need to be adjusted daily. Should I be looking at this one from Bob, or should I be looking at another, possibly a recirc? -Scott
Lowman
I have a little stand that it can sit on in the sump, so the fluctuations don't affect it. One it is broke in and it is set, it hardly ever needs adjustment. My ev180 hasn't needed adjustment since it broke in
