cellowithgills
I just came home and my tank is really cloudy. I've got two clams so I was think that they may have just spawned. The other possibility is that this is a calcium snow storm. The tank is milky looking and I see what looks like white dust specks being blown around. How can I tell the difference? cellowithgills
just a side note, everything still looks really happy. I also tested for ammonia, and it showed nothing

matty
I was only kidding with my comment. I found this thread that seems like it might help. Is your skimmer going nuts? http://www.3reef.com/forums/clams/clam-spawning-38280.html On a side note. Look at the video of the bristle worms spawning...(scary)
Islandoftiki
Oh man. Bristle worms spawning. I have to go wash my eyes out with soap now.

Jeramy
Maybe put a disclaimer on that one. So your not sitting here eating breakfast and watching this video (puke)

talkalot82
but as a rule of thumb in my tanks after spawning always do water changes.. safe than sorry.. Unless you have a breeding tank....

steelhead77
Keep an eye on the clams. My experience has been that within a day or so of spawning, they die. Have a bunch (at least 50%) of water made up JIC. Good Luck
cellowithgills
So I haven't figured out what happened, but I put a sock on it and it cleared up in a couple of hours. I took some water out while it was cloudy took look at under a scope.
