Snow storm or clam spawn?

Recommended Posts

I just came home and my tank is really cloudy. I've got two clams so I was think that they may have just spawned. The other possibility is that this is a calcium snow storm. The tank is milky looking and I see what looks like white dust specks being blown around. How can I tell the difference?

Oh man. Bristle worms spawning. I have to go wash my eyes out with soap now.

but as a rule of thumb in my tanks after spawning always do water changes.. safe than sorry.. Unless you have a breeding tank....

Keep an eye on the clams. My experience has been that within a day or so of spawning, they die. Have a bunch (at least 50%) of water made up JIC.

Good Luck

So I haven't figured out what happened, but I put a sock on it and it cleared up in a couple of hours. I took some water out while it was cloudy took look at under a scope.

If I had thought that one would have been helpful, I would have posted one earlier.

That sounds a little bit snappy doesn't it? Sorry, didn't mean to.
