  1. Welcome, I'm out in yelm so not to far from you. 1k tank is definitely something big lol. So much to take into account but if you got the space, the funds and enough structural support under your floor for 4 tons of water that would certainly be something special. 2. Picked up a used xr30 g4 for my frag tank and I'm in love. Now I'm looking for another used xr30 g4 pro so I can throw em both on my dt. Want to buy but if interested ill trade my giesemann moonlight t5 halide hybrid if interested, just took it out of the crate last month and just put in the brand new bulbs 2 weeks ago. 3. Finally up and running got fish in display, more in qt, and frag qt tank up and running yet empty. Can't wait for rona to be over, I need a frag swap in my near future. Sent from my SM-G975U using Tapatalk
  4. Gyres bought. Thanks Sent from my SM-G975U using Tapatalk
  5. Iso gyre either icecal or maxpect. Located Olympia/tacoma area but ill drive for a good deal [emoji846]. Sent from my SM-G975U using Tapatalk
  6. 150ppm This is the link https://humble.fish/community/index.php?threads/hydrogen-peroxide.21/ I used 10 ml with 2 litres of salt water or 20ml per gallon in a 30 min bath. I plan on doing this as a pre quarantine measure from now on. Doesn't seem as as harsh as formalyn nor as dangerous to the user. Not as tested though so we'll see what livestock is tolerant. 7. Yeah lots of lessons learned through this. Thankfully this hobby has so many friendly people willing to help and offer advice.[emoji869] Sent from my SM-G975U using Tapatalk
  8. Just wanted to follow up. Ended up being brook. Got worse and worse and both clowns showed symptoms. On humblefishes advice I did a 30 min H202 bath on all 3 fish. One of the clowns didn't make it till through the next morning but the other clown appears to be better than ever. Another 2 weeks in qt with metro and if all goes well the DT will finally get its first inhabitants as long as nothing else come up lol. Sent from my SM-G975U using Tapatalk
  9. Tank cycled, bacterial bloom cleared, 3 fish in QT with 5 weeks to go, about to set up a coral QT. No quaranteen for me here essential personel but traffic has been nice[emoji23] Sent from my SM-G975U using Tapatalk
  10. I'm currently treating with general cure (metro+prazi) in the water column, and treating the food with metro+focus. Sent from my SM-G975U using Tapatalk
  11. From my research,,, seems to be most common in clown fish with the possibility to transfer to other fish. Here is a link to humblefish on brook, whom I've been taking most of my commands from (with help from here as well) in this QT process. https://humble.fish/community/index.php?threads/brooklynella.5/ Sent from my SM-G975U using Tapatalk
  12. Quick question, so I picked up 2 clowns and a sailfin tang about 9 days ago and put them in my QT. They all appear healthy except one of the clowns had a white stringy poo about 3 days ago. I was thinking it was some type of internal parasites as there was no strange behavior and no physical signs of any other disease. Talked to my LFS and they said it's probably brooklynella. Either way they are already in QT which is now @2.0 copper power and about to start treating with api GC and metro in the food. Is it possible that brook could go this long with no symptoms? It hasnt had another striny poo since the one 3 days ago. Thanks Sent from my SM-G975U using Tapatalk
  13. Correct, no lights for another 2 months. Fair enough I'll start dropping in flakes here in the next week or two once it's completely clear. Thanks again Sent from my SM-G975U using Tapatalk
  14. Suppose I have to eventually anyway. Maybe I'll toss a few snails in there in the mean time once I start feeding so it dosent get to crazy Sent from my SM-G975U using Tapatalk
  15. Just an update, tank is about 75% clearer. Taking out the shrimp and turning the skimmer back on seemed to do the trick never should have shut it off. Anyway fish will be goin in QT end of next week so it's got 4-6 more weeks empty, should I add a little ammonia every now and then to keep the bacteria count up till then. I stopped feeding it to starve the hetotrophic bacteria cloud. Sent from my SM-G975U using Tapatalk
  16. Wow, good thing it was a seperate structure. Glad your ok. Sent from my SM-G975U using Tapatalk
  17. Right, I know I just gave 3 window units away last winter haha hindsight. Sent from my SM-G975U using Tapatalk
  18. I read a write up on a diy chiller using an old dorm size fridge and some 1/4 inch tubing and a pump. This is my plan if temps get out of control. I dont know exactly the answer to your question but it dosent cost much to run a mini fridge and a chiller is basically the same thing.
  19. Yelm, its about 45 minutes sw of olympia Sent from my SM-G975U using Tapatalk
  20. I'm cool with waiting it out. I've pulled the shrimp in the hope eliminate the food and the cloud will dissipate. I'll start ghost feeding when its cleared up. Uv is not in the budget at the time. Still gotta get quaranteen setup and the list goes on..... yes I went bare bottom. Wife really wants sps so seemed like the best option to avoid sand storms from the flow. Also I love the look of the coral encrusted bottom. Sent from my SM-G975U using Tapatalk
  21. All the time in the world. I was just trying to stay on top of it if it was an issue. Sent from my SM-G975U using Tapatalk
  22. I have considered it. As indiscriminate as they are though at this stage I'm concerned it would kill all the bacteria good and bad hence nullifying my cycle Sent from my SM-G975U using Tapatalk
  23. Thanks, I currently have a marine pure block in the sump and have a brightwell xport block and a bottle of mb7 arriving Tuesday. Should I pull the shrimp I have in there out in the mean time and start lightly ghost feeding or leave it in till it's gone then start? Sent from my SM-G975U using Tapatalk
  24. Hey yall, So my tank has been fishless cycling for just shy of 3 weeks now. No lights whole time used dr Tim's one and only for bacteria and raw table shrimp for food. About a day or 2 after the cycle started my water got cloudy and has been ever since. Turned skimmer on about a week in and its producing light skimate. Tried a bag of carbon in the filter sock cup which seemed to help mildly for a day or two. Did a 15% water change last week also with no change. Tank is reading less than .25 ammonia or less using api test and 5.0 nitrate which I'm not to worried about as I doing the 4 month brs hybrid cycle. I'm convinced this is a bacteria bloom because tank is bare bottom with dry rock. Any suggestions as to something I should be doing or should I just keep weathering the storm and hope it clears eventually? Thanks Sent from my SM-G975U using Tapatalk
