I think @Manny Tavan is mainly wondering - is ONE a probable number for him to be getting? Has anyone else registered a number so low?
No the one was just ambient light. My question is - there are recommended par value for sps for instance. Are those par value in line with what this device is giving me. For instance 300 par for acros. Should I aim for 250 on this meter?

for some reason I am not finding it. I search using those keywords. Would you be able to link me to that post if possible. Thanks @Trailermann
I was basically trying to figure out if the number displayed is actually a PAR value or something equivalent that needed a conversion of some kind

Trade the cat for zoas and montis? Those pictures are amazing.

I heard they still need pods and can supplement with pellets. Is that true or can pellets sustain them 100%?

Is that one of the captive bred mandarin?

Nice! You are filling that up fast - hope everything does well for you.
Yeah i’m probably filling too fast for such a “young system” but I couldn’t resist

I don't think it ever really stops... you just start to get numb to it after a while. Either that or you tear it all down one day in a fit of frustration Hopefully you never get to that point.
Welcome BTW - looks like you are off to a good start and have already discovered at least one of our helpful LFSs here in town. There are some others listed on the sponsor page that can also be a good resource as well as the community here on the forum. Lots of experience amongst this user group so they can certainly help in answering questions and giving advice to help you avoid some of the more stressful situations you could face.
Good luck!
Jeff at cuttle fish has been awesome but I’ve also been at pretty much all the LFS within a 20 mile radius numerous times i’m pretty sure I have a coral, fish or snail from all those places. Can’t wait to get more

Those who've borrowed the handheld meter have been happy with it, but probably this reason:
Thanks. I’ll borrow the handheld one then. I also signed up to be a paid member

I guess i’d like to be in line for either one. I have a newer set up and just need a general idea of par levels throughout the tank
Thanks

Go ahead and skip me for now, I’ll wait for the USB one:)
Sent from my iPhone using TapatalkMay I ask why everyone is in line for the usb meter and not the other one?

Welcome! Nice hammer coral there.
Got that from cuttle fish and coral but it’s now in the back corner because it sure doesn’t like any flow at all. Probably going to rehome it when i get more sps

Welcome! Nice Red Sea tank! Looking good so far! Funny how you say the hobby is fun and stressful. When something goes wrong in my tank and I’m pissed off af my tank , I sometimes grit my teeth and say this is sooo relaxing !
It’s a lot of stress even when everything is going well. Always worried about a leak? About my skimmer overflowing, about a snail dying and crashing the tank. Not sure when all the worrying is going to stop lol
