  1. Those are amazing looking corals! On the topic at hand, I also had a terrible time trying to use google+ to host the images instead of photobucket, so now I mainly use tapatalk. Maybe we can all band together and donate some money to buy software
  2. Yeah, I have been seeing that more and more. Seems to be that most of the used rodi units need most/all filters replaced, and by then I might as well get a BRS or SpectraPure new. At least that is what I tell the wife
  3. Definitely. Was trying to just get the tank set up asap and maybe pick up a rodi after, but I might just break down and get one tomorrow. Sent from my Nexus 6P using Tapatalk
  4. Thanks for this, I will see if I can drag my wife down That is if I FINALLY get this tank setup and running lol.
  5. Hey everyone, I am trying to track down enough salt water to fill my new 120. I currently have about 50ish gallons in it, so I am probably in need of ~100 gallons. Also willing to buy a rodi instead if someone has one in good condition that I can use to fill up this tank.
  6. Here's are some pictures Tank is dirty from me cleaning it Sent from my Nexus 6P using Tapatalk
  7. From left to right: Emergency drain, siphon drain, standard drain, return. I will most likely split the return at the right overflow using a T and have it come out of both sides. Anyone have any tips for cleanly cutting out the center brace? Would a 2x6 or 2x4 spanning above the brace, inside the stand, be enough to support the tank with a floating center brace, or would you recommend building leg supports as well, pretty much reinforcing the top->bottom weight distribution. I believe the wood that was used on there is like a 1x4, at best.
  8. Thanks! Also looks like softy fixed my blunders last night ha ha. Here is a picture of the under plumbing. Sent from my Nexus 6P using Tapatalk
  9. Alright, so I finally have some items coming together for the 120 build. I am planning on doing a modified herbie to quiet it down, I am unsure about the durso system so I thought I might try something I found on the internet. My wife and I refinished the stand that we bought with the tank, but I am unhappy with the center brace because it is huge and gets in the way. I am thinking of supporting the boards above it with a 2x4 and cutting out the center brace and maybe putting a magnet on it so that I can still use it, for the doors, but be able to remove it so I can remove my sump. I currently cannot remove the sump because it is freaking too tall and long, but if I remove the brace I will be good to go. Anyways here is a picture as it currently sits. I will upload some more of the piping when I am done gluing it.
  10. Can't figure out how to edit, but willing to throw cash on top.
  11. Hey everyone, my wife decided she didn't like the old tank and lights that I picked up recently. I am looking to trade away the stuff above for some nice 48" lights that can hang/hold on the tank itself. The tank is 4x2x2. I will post pictures later today. Let me know what you have!!
  12. Hey all, I have a tank, but now I need a stand. I'm planning on building one, but if I can find a nicer one, it might be worth not having to mess with it. Let me know what you have, thanks!
  13. Welcome! I was also looking at the Red Sea, but couldn't bring my wife along the joy ride It's beautiful.
  14. Hi Vance, and welcome. Just started back up again, and have been getting a lot of help from the people here on the forums so you are in a good place. To reiterate, read read and read some more. I spend more time reading than cleaning the tank that I just got that needs to now have a stand built... oh and the floor braced... oh and and and
  15. Welcome! And here I thought starting with a 120 might be a mistake
  16. How much do the lights usually run? I was doing some Googlefoo and couldn't find anything about them.
  17. Yeah I've been talking to Dave, but I waffled on the decision and there is someone else ahead of me. He has been a great guy on the phone, so I hope it all works out for him, but I definitely wouldn't mind buying it if the buyer backed out.
  18. Awesome, thanks for the heads up. I think I might have missed a great deal on a setup, but I'm sure more will come around, or the buyer will back out *hopefully*
  19. I live in tigard, and yes money is nice ha ha.
  20. It's been a little over a decade since I last had a tank, but like most it crashed hard when I wasn't paying attention ([language filter] you school!). But now that I have time/money/space (pick 2) I thought it would be nice to see what is out there, and I happened to run into this forum while browsing for tanks in Portland. Long story short, nice to meet you all.
  21. Wouldn't mind getting pieces together from others, but I'm just getting back into a reef/fish tank but want to see if anyone is getting out of the hobby first before I get individual pieces together. Thanks!
