  1. It looks like an upset leather of some sort. In my tank, they tend to like slightly dirty water. However, that lil guy could just be adapting, or shedding, or just having a Tuesday.

Did it look like the attached pictures by chance?

Thanks for the heads up. I have been using the ones at the bottom for more than a year now. What is the failure mode? Does it crack and start leaking?

I found they would crack then split at the top lip of the cut out in the middle where it bows out from the water. I could get a few good grows out of them before I noticed small cracks on water changes. I am sure mine went faster due to all the light.

When I want to do a water change, I dump the water in the refugium by opening a valve at the bottom of the tote(It is not easy to see. ) and pump the water from the bottom tote to the bottom. Bottom tote is connected to the fresh water tote with a float valve.

Watch those totes closely. I used to use them for a hydroponic set up and had to change them out frequently. They tend to let go all the sudden and much quicker with grow lights.

  4. It looks like it's trying to hang on. Keep your water clean and fingers crossed. I would leave it in if it does die. I had a hammer die and about 6 months later I noticed a bunch of little bumps on the skeleton. About a year later and I had a huge colony.

It draws off the screen for me on a couple of the sites tabs/pages.  Probably just a simple CSS margin error.  I was just poking fun. :)

it was doing the same for me. I had to turn off PiHole. I assume they are using amazon web hosting as any site hosted there my pihole breaks due to the ad domains.

  6. Do you mind sharing your vet? I had called a few places in the past trying to get it and none would prescribe it.

With each power outage, I have to reset my Classic via the Display. PITA. Is there a simple UPS that is fast enough to protect the Apex?  Would 600 VA be big enough to keep pump, power heads, skimmer, etc (excluding lights) going for 30 minutes?

My classic was doing that too. I have now set a static IP for the Apex in the controller and on my router. This resolved the issue for me. What I found is that the Apex boots faster than my Edgerouter and would ask for an IP but not get a reply so it would auto assign 169.0.0.1 which is outside of my ranges so it got blocked. Now that it has a static IP in my subnet, it cant default to one that does not work. Once the router and switches are live and ready the Apex is already set up and no issues.
