  1. Great start, I would definitely run a sump. Personally I would ditch the sump in the pics and go with something more customizable, like a 20 or 40 gallon with baffels and chambers for return pump and skimmer. As for lighting, you could pickup some cheap T5s for now and upgrade as time and money permits. If you need some help, there are several of us in the Salem, Dallas area. Just ask. Good luck.
  2. So far so good in Keizer. Generator on standby.
  3. Im interested, but the link doesn't work :( Edit: I found it in the Fusion menu and enabled it. Today should be a good test for it.
  4. Thanks for all of your input. I will give a try and let you know if it worksmor helps at all.
  5. My wife and I discovered a recipe for making home made weed killer. Anyway, the recipe is 1 gallon of Vinegar, 1 cup of Salt and dish soap. We tried it today do we are waiting to see how it works. But, it got us thinking (which is usually not a good thing). Has anyone tried using their used saltwater from water changes as any kind of weed killer? Not that it would really save much money, but just curious.
  6. Looking awesome!!!
  7. Ive already replace the plastic jug with a smaller glass bottle. Moving the probe towards the top didnt change anything. But, at least its working now.
  8. I had moved the probe around several times over the past several weeks while trying figure it out. Also, the probe is brand new, so Im leaning towards the plastic affecting the Ph. Anyone else have any thoughts?
  9. So, I think I may have solved our low Ph problem from the CA reactor. Every since I installed the reactor I havent been able to get the effluent Ph above 6.1 or so, which was very puzzling. I had the effluent dumping to a plastic jug which was about 6" deep, then over flowed into the sump. In this platic jug, I had the Ph2 probe measuring effluent Ph. Today my wife had a discussion about the jug being deep enough that the probe wasnt accurately measuring the Ph, which I disagreed with this threory. Anyway, I swapped out the jug with a much smaller glass container. The Ph immediately started climbing to where it should be and subsequently the Apex turned on the CO2 solenoid and seems to working properly. So, my question is: was it the deeper container affecting the effluent Ph or was it the plastic in the container?
