  1. Koralia nano 425 but I just took it out and instead using my aquaclear 50 on med. flow and my diy breederbox turned into a refugium with a Rio pump. Seems to keep my mushrooms and my Duncan happy

I've been thinking of just using an aqua clear 50 for flow too! That way I can run some media is it also. Thanks for the input :)

What size tank do you have?

  2. Well I missed seeing my tank everyday so I set up a little 10 gallon tank for my fraternity room to hold me over between seeing the frag tank at home. :) Nothing special, I plan to stock it with lots of softies since they are easy and maybe a couple damsels. It's bare bottom to help keep the tank clean and I plan to turn the bottom into a GSP field. I know it's invasive but hey it's just a little 10 gallon and it's an easy coral to keep. :) right now my only inhabitant is a cleaner shrimp.
I do have a question about flow, what do you other nano tank keepers use for flow in such small tanks? I'm only use to be tanks haha. And the WP-10 I have right now puts out to much flow for my softies. Even on the lowest setting. So I'm open to different options, just not looking to break the bank :)
Here is a quick phone pic..

  3. Holy cow I can't believe we have had these frags for almost 4 months already! Such small growth in that time lol!

No idea how I'm getting the Reds cuz I'm struggling to keep them on the other acros ha. Maybe this one is stealing their red when I'm not looking..... No detectable nitrates or phosphates and I know that's hurting the other acros but maybe this little guy likes those kinds of levels...

  4. Each camera is slightly different; most point and shoot do not have the customs wb setting; if you have a dslr or similar interchangeable lens camera then it's under your wb setting. Consult your manual for direction to set it (easiest way for reef tanks is just to snap a full tank shot while in customs wb setting). For best color pop, turn down your white (almost to zero) and bump up the blues. Dial down the exposure a little bit so you don't get blown out highlights. I hope thats not too confusing.

No that helps, I've been doing nothing the custom white balance different so I'll give this way a try! Thanks again for the tips :) been asking a wide range of people to see what will work best for me, so I appreciate the feed back!

    Awesome pictures also!

  5. I noticed you said you are running a couple of T247s, how long do you run each Channel and at what intensity?

Having issues finding the "Sweet spot" with mine.

Channel one (blues) come on at 9am and go off at 9pm

Channel two (white) come on at 11am and go off at 7pm:)

Mine are both at different intensities. The one above me SPS sits at about 80 blues and 50 whites. The one above zoas, I'm working of finding the sweet spot but right now but that are at 30 blues 10 white.

Ok the display, they are all at about 70 blue 50 white. It's a 180 gallon tank.

Not quite yet haha. That colony is only maybe 6 inches haha. And it's actually in the display tank, a lot of these photos are from the display. I should change the title to frag tank/display...

But by the time I make it back to Portland I might be able to clip you off a piece though! :)

  8. I have a H&S 150 (rated for 275g) with 10lb tank and regulator.

Could also arrange for an Aquacontroller jr to control everything (upgraded to Apex).

German made..check them out. No need for feed pump.
