  3. Well bill without help of Stylaster and Gumby it would not have went so smooth. It took 6 hours we started at 7 and finished at 1 am which was a work day for both of them. It took 4 55 gallon drums 23 five gallon buckets and two coolers filling a truck,12 foot trailer and two cars to get everything here. The colonies popped off for most part and what didn't we moved on the rocks as they sat. I learned a lot from last BIG tank and have designed the new tank around those short falls. This tank will only feature stuff I really want and or like. It won't be your typical large fish, tang dominated tank ask think the SPS are always retracted when they are in and out of the corals and making frags. Instead I will focus on speciality higher end fish with purpose. The SPS. Will only be choice pieces and placed accordingly to enjoy, prune and prosper. LPS will be few but choice pieces! Zoas will be isolated so they don't overgrow my nice stuff. And there will be death to those large hairy green shrooms, aphasia and Monjanos as I can. And lastly this tank is super quiet unlike the washing machine sound of my other tank. So I I am still discarding corals and broke up some of the large colony's so I can start with fresh healthy stuff. I will be hitting you, Brad, Danik, Stylaster and a few others up shortly to start the reef garden up with choice stuff.
  4. Mad mikes tank is being rocked at Ocean In A Box by jason now!
  5. Thanks, I was looking for something different and kinda distressed and vintage so that's what I came up. Three layers of different paint, sanded through to expose under colors then coated with an ebony stain that was applied and wiped off after it tacked up a little.
  6. Anyone who questions the Rw-15 from Jebao is crazy. These things are no joke and literally can cause a tidal wave.
  7. It has OR Arctiv T 247, and oddly enough I am removing a bunch of the finals and going mostly designer stuff yes Brad that means I will need to come see you. The stand was built and painted by me. Tank and sump built by Charles and overflow ideas courtesy Stylaster.
  8. So finally did some rock scaping but corals are all still just thrown around till next days off but here are a few shots of what I am working with now, mand it's super quiet. The loudest thing in the tank is the hammerhead pumps humming noise. Well here's one overall. Photobucket froze on me
  9. .......oh and I hate you for making me jealous!!!!!
  10. Brad I am hating my tank now.....especially after the move. Everything looks like crapola and lost some cool stuff now I just gotta stabalize everything and try to get colors back
  11. How were you normally keeping it 9.5-9.8 to start with?
  12. I am in agreeance here. I think the import/export side may be effected by this at some point and rightfully so if the species are truely diminishing. I think as hobbits we have plenty of sources for getting some of the items on the list as they have been aqua cultured for long enough to meet our wants.
  13. Park rose hardware also has a bunch
  14. Thanks for the kind thoughts and I will post pics later tomorrow. Charles did a very nice job on the new cube and sump. Just like he said.....no bubbles in the display. Oh and the bean animal overflow. Truly a work of art. Super quiet when it's all tuned in
  15. Oh Rudy you are forgiven my friend!!!
  16. As is forming!!!!! Lol now get over hear and get my apex working right so I don't have to bug u all the time.....wait you thrive on being needed so I'll just keep hitting you up on hangouts
  17. Just wanted to throw a huge thanks to Stylaster and Gumby for stepping up and helping me get the tank moved to the new house. Fortunately this time around I had Charles build me a new tank and sump and I built the stand. So we jugs had to transfer everything. All in all we had 4 drums of waster, 1 drum packed with rock, and about 20 bucks and a cooler to move the corals. The fish all hot thrown in a 55 gallon barrel of tank water. The move was literally 3 miles but managed to have a yellow corRIS wrasse jump on the commute and a checkerboard wrasse stayed buried in the sand of the old tank. When I found him he was alive but I had no water to transport him so became part of the food chain. I will post some picks of the new tank soon. I need to pull everything out and rescale the rock and glue corals. Maybe Friday!!! The only real dilemma I faced was after hooking up Apex, I dropped display unit in tank. I immediately took apart and tried blowing water out of circuit board. With the advice of a few good members and friends, I washed it down with RO water and put in bucket of rice for a day..........and IT WORKS AGAIN!! Stay tuned
