Hey Ninja - I am curious about that green/purple monti on the magnetic frag disk. What are approximate dimensions on that?
BTW - your euphyillia specimens look fantastic. Clearly they are very happy in your tank!
I would say about 4.5 inches wide,4.5-5 tall, and sticks out 3.5 or so.

A problem I have with my ato is the size of my container and the point where water enters sump.
After I fill the ato container, and it goes off the first time, a slow siphon starts and a couple hours later my skimmer is overflowing. I don't think installing a check valve would help since the water is siphoning down not flowing back up.

I have coral that will grow right over them, but some won't. Sometimes the vermitide snails irritate coral with their booger catcher slime trap.

It's true. However that smoked extension cord was an eye opener for me.
My nuisance trips were legit. Partially plugged in extension cord, Christmas lights etc. Once I chased all those down.. None since.
Here is some good info on a wall installable afci (like a gfci)

Personally I never want to have to say 'Sorry kids, daddies reef tank burnt down the house and all your toys and pets'!
A little extreme but this was a big event for me!
Ya not a good situation, I had my dj power strip burnup last year with a lot of smoke, almost forgot about that, it was corroded and salt creep and gotten into the unit.

I am sure not the right guy to ask about electrical codes.... It used to be just bedrooms if I understand right, but has slowly grown to more living spaces.
So I kept having one of the fancy breakers trip for no reason, my electrician friend checked it out couldn't find any reason for it, even when every switch and light was on in the house the load on that circuit was not even close to capacity.
So he replaced it with a regular breaker and no problems since.
He was saying that in the electrical world there are some dumb codes, and lobbying to get requirements passed that make it more expensive in the industry, paid for by the companies that produce the products nessesary to comply with the code.
All that said, I really don't want any of our houses to burn down.

Well what circuits are they required on? My panel has only two fancy breakers and they cover they bedrooms.

My tank has been like that for the last 4 years, just when you think you have it dialed in, something goes wrong.

ANeed to make room to break up this frogspawn some, it's rubbing on surrounding corals and doing some damage.
So I am also looking to sell my galaxea colony! $150 it's approximately fist sized, and is attached to a rock with a flat bottom, so it's easy keep by itself.

It may just take a long time to recover..my acan has been super healthy and super sick since I have had it. I thought it was a goner multiple times but slowly has recovered and looks better than ever.
I kept having problems because I couldn't find a spot that it liked, and it wasn't secured to something, so it would get moved all the time.

That sucks, I have done the same in an apartment. And whenever I leave the house for a couple of days my skimmer collection cup always seems to malfunction and go crazy.
That is why I don't use the drain tube for my skimmate anymore.

I think dosing would be more difficult than a reactor, I find myself constantly messing with things, making new solution, checking lines to make sure they aren't plugged.
Never ran a calcium reactor though, once they are setup they sound much easier.
