So I decided to get rid of the "rock wall" as best I could. I have an eel so I needed to retain a bit of hiding places for him. I pulled about 20 pounds of rock from my display and relocated it in my sump. Luckily I have a pretty large sump, so technically I didn't loose any beneficial rock! I am in no way good at doing this, rarely happy with the outcome but I like this setup the best out of any I've done. I have mainly "chunky" pieces of Rock, which makes its hard to accomplish the "islands" look but here it is!

After. Water is still kind of clouded, corals are a little mad, but everything is placed where I want it. Doing a 30 gallon change here once my little helper going to sleep!

Does anyone else feel like things just sprout out of thin air or water for that matter in our tanks? While starting to move things around in my tank I found some sort of a sea slug, a crab, and a few of the small stars in my tank. Ive had it up for about a year now, never seen any of these critters until today... Craziness haha
Please excuse the grammatical errors sent from my iPad...

Nice eel. I have a golden dwarf moray in my reef actually he has been in two of my reefs. Never had a problem with him except he is a messy eater.
Same here! Egor (my golden dwarf) does awesome in my reef, keeps to himself and doesn't even eat my crab or shrimp. Congrats on the new addition eels are so cool to watch! Well when you get to see them

+1 on the battery backup, I have one also, I would let my tank sit for a while (maybe an hour or 2) then run only the necessities with the backup so it can last as long as possible. You would be surprised how long a tank can sit stagnate. My 90 sat with no lights or flow for almost 6 hours when it tripped a breaker and everything was fine.

I've got a 30 tall I'm selling for 20 bucks it's not cracked but you could still use it for baffles

Awesome setup! Congrats on the upgrade, as for the sad transfer I use flexible 2 inch clear hose like a funnel and allows me to put it where I want. Not sure if that's what you did but it's worked well for me.

That is amazing!

Hey I was a beavers fan the year that they went 0-10-1 and the tie was a 3-3 thriller with the huskies =) Its easy to have a top level team when you have the unlimited funding of a billionare backing your program. =)
Riiiiight.... Uncle Phil has been around for years upon years, the ducks were not so great until about 5 years ago. Phil's contributions are great but people using that as a scape goat for talent is getting old. We hear it all year yet when we sucked no one brought it up!

That's right. I will check the water and get back to you.
Also how is the flow where they are? Since others are doing ok maybe it's too much or not enough? Do they move around a lot?

Almost everyone on here uses reactors, doesn't mean our tanks have not and cant take a turn for the worst. I would check your basic parameters first. We can't help you of you don't know where they sit. If everything is perfect in the water, the lighting is definitely sufficient then we need to start hunting. But until we know it's a lost cause to throw out guesses.
-
Most nems are hard to keep, lighting is not only the main factor, they need stable, clean, correct water. What are you tank parameters? Have you checked them lately? That's where I would start.

I couldn't even imagine the feeling he's going to have when that door opens...!!

I'm watching it, dude is an animal!! That would be incredible!!!

Lol The beavers... People still care about the beavers?
Gotta say, you have to be a true fan to root for them :-) but i have to admit they are doing better this year than expected. But Ducks will smash em!
-
Yup Beavs' date=' are where it's at this year![/quote']
I have to disagree. Ducks will blow them off their high horse if someone doesn't get to it before them.

Here is mine from a week or so ago.
Totally jealous of the rock work. Looks nice!
-
Good luck' date=' you should post a before and after pic.[/quote']
I will for sure! It seems like its going to be much harder than imagined lol

Thanks for the advice! I'm starting the project tomorrow once my wife gets home from work. Going to transfer the corals into my rimless tank for holding and then start pulling rock. My plan is to lay it out on a tarp with the tank dimensions marked out so I can kind of "see" how it will look. Wish me luck! Lol

Did you want those unions still? Tank is going to be incredible!
