Hey thanks PowderBlue! This isn't my first rodeo (I have like 20 years xp with reef alone). That sump is going to maintain most of its size specifically to accommodate a large skimmer...I have an old diy one around here somewheres...

And that beananimal overflow is just what I was thinking - the added length or width of the stand will give me more room underneath anyway. I read about them 2 days ago I think. A couple more pieces of acrylic, some bulkheads, and some wood and I am in business!!!

Oh well then your set! I've only been doing it for about 5 so I'm pretty far behind. I feel like with the 4 builds in 2 years I did some much needed learning! Post pics with progress! Always fun watching these come together!

If your going to get rid of the overflow I'd look into doing a bean animal, it's 100% what I'm going to use on my next build, whenever I get around to it lol. Supposed to be completely silent and also overflow proof. This is just from what I've read. They look cool too so why not?! Lol. Also from personal experience I'd make your skimmer/return area a little larger than what most ore made sumps have. Seems like if you get any pump in them worth having your almost out of room. Go slow, and get everything in line before you start the build process. If you don't you will end up putting it together half done And won't be happy with the end product. Just my 2 pennies good luck and enjoy the build process. It's half the fun for me!

No problem, I had a 75 gallon tank stand and canopy I was trying to sell on here for 100 bucks, ended up getting 200 on craigslist. Just food for thought. get that thing sold so you can get the tank going!!

Free bump, price is VERY fair, sometimes it's really hard to sell stuff on here. Try flakes list or reef central they will probably sell in a day or 2

Id call saltwater Fantaseas I'm sure they do, or have someone that does this.

Seems like a lot of people in Portland and the surrounding areas are into tanks. Lucky for us!

I usually run about one inch. Much easier to keep clean if you just sift it every few days.

There is one for pretty cheap on Portland Craigslist. I think it was like 40 or 50 bucks with the bio balls. Worth a check at least!

Has an overflow in the middle, back of the tank. Can't go wrong for 20 jr bacon cheeseburgers.

Some gsp you can take somthing sharp like a fragging scalpel and get under it. Then keep working it and peel it off like turf.

Then wait 15 minutes and it will grow back.

Lol burn it, cut it, 15 minutes later it's back. Maybe I'll just break out the weed wacker hahahahaha

Anyone know if I can just "cut" pieces of the gsp off to kind of clean up the piece of rock. Wife won't let me get rid of it. I don't want it to die just cut it back.

I thought about that also, I may tweak it a bit more. I'm trying to have as much flow as possible before I get an mp10 this seems to have helped tremendously already!
