  1. I,was, thinking apex could control it without a temp controller or step heater probe, it just uses the apex heater probe

Just set your heater probe to your tank temp (79 or 80?? ), then programming apex based of apex's heater proble to have it ON and OFF and safeguard it from there.

  2. I trade you beautiful blue tip green slimmer for your Orange Envy to feed your Queen.  My slimmer is a super fast grow so daily feeding might not be a problem.  Deal?

I'll let you know.... so far so good, except the 1200.00 dinner it had, but I think the flesh will grow back on that coral, its only half gone

  4. I am seriously contemplating on switching to a freshwater planted tank. After my big tank crash last month and now dino's and cyano coming back with a vengeance I just don't know if I want to continue with saltwater. I really like the look of a planted fresh water tank. I don't know what to do......

I give you a free starter pack when your tank ready for dummy frags ( Vivid rainbow, red planet, green slime with bluetip, red dragon, micro lados).

  5. I am not sure why you are using this design. A waterfall type scrubber is much easier to build and the specifications for the screen size, the amount of flow and light have all been pretty well defined. No need to re-invent the scrubber.

    Here is my screen:

IF you go to this site, you will learn a lot.

The showering style required some plumbing and I think I have done enough plumbing to stay away from it as much as I could.

This design a lot quicker and easier and could be a lot more affective with rich oxygen from air stones.  Will see how it go next week

  6. If it's just the one in the pic, I don't think you have enough light.

Here are some submersible LED strips that can be used for this. They are $ but might help if you find your setup underpowered.

I run just 1, and i picked red color.  Algae does not need much light, I think and I run 2 air stone to generate tone of oxygen.
