  1. 260 gallons or so water volume.  DT and frag tank plumbed together.  CA reactor, G4 plus xxx skimmer, little Cheato left in sump while giant scrubber is kicking in 2 weeks.  No dosing and fish's poops are the only nutrient sources.

I don't check much except ALK once a while or when I see CA's PH change, and Mg for once in few months when I see  a little struggling or algea sign.

this frag ~ 1 inch and growing under 1/2 and 1/2 lighting in frag tank.

Tom was the only person still needing to pick up his frag as of this past Sunday. One extra if needed. Matt was nice enough to give me a frag to play with so watch out.

Don't u mess around with my frag.  Will pick up today for this Winter's ornaments :-).  Been extremely busy ( some good busy, some stupid busy, u name it all ).  Plus fishing season so this hobby is secondary

I just hooked mine up straight to unit no more buckets or barrels  will flush the membrane weekly

I'd like to make thing simple or it's "cry me a river" when it comes to cleaning time.  Pond, you can get away with being lazy, not for aquarium.  It only take few months or sometimes few weeks to clean all equipments and containers.  I made a huge mistake when I started out with barrels on 4ft shelfs .   Water change and cleaning are the pain in the but$ of this hobby.  But I'd call it a success if one day, I could get away without water change, it's WIP.

Good luck and grow some bad a$$ acros :-)

  4. Mr officer.  In my opinion,  TDS creeping is not big deal for your size of tank, so a float valve (well mounted inside your sump) with direct feeding from RODI is not issue.  I ran this way for more than 3 years and I copied that from Reefjunkies but not sure he does that no more ( u could check with him ).  A simple  solution that will get you away from unnesessary redundancies unless you have dedicated roomy fish room and cool toys to play with.

I had this TDS concerns a while back when I saw RODI water trickle through floater valve when sump level went low but not low enough to get booster pump kicked in.  But if there's TDS creeping issue, the whole tank should struggle, not a piece here or there once a while.

Curious how people set up there ATO's. I typically run a line directly to a float valve in my sump and check tgd vslve weekly to make sure it is working properly  i have done it other ways in tge past but finf this works the best for me. I set up redunancies to minimize leak disaters

anyone else use this method ?

please share your methods, ive heard that going straight ftom rodi csn lead to TDS creeping in to tank but not sure if this factual

What do you mean by TDS creeping in to the tank?

I ran direct from RODI to float valve in my sump.  I do see tiny dripping into the sump at the float value sometime when the water level was full/barely low ( this is what you meant TDS creeping???).  I want to fix it but don't know how.
