    Clown rubbing on sand

Ya seems lke they keep fighting, they will separate for a few days then come back together, and one keeps changing what it hosts. Can't get them to eat again though, they ate like crazy when i first added them.
  4. Does it mean anything that my clowns are now rubbing against rocks and the sand occasionally? They haven't been eating when i try feeding them for the past 4-5 days.... Firefish seem totally fine however.
  5. I'm going to change the T5's from a 8-6. is it ok to do this suddenly? Also the bulbs and ballasts are brand new, bought the whole fixture brand new.
  6. Algae is blooming like crazy as is. Just have soft corals, except for the torch coral, which 2 of the heads seem to retract quicker than the other's can't tell if its unhappy or not.
  7. I have a 48" lighting fixture which has 4 T5 actinic bulbs in it, and 2x250w MH. I have been running the Actinics for 12 hours and having the halides come on for 5.5 hours. Does this seem like a legitimate schedule for my 55g?
  8. Moved it to an area with less light (beneath overflow).
  9. Just started being like this 2 days ago when previously it was doing really well. Also a pic of the clown and anemone, what type of anemone's are those anyway?
  10. $150 has fans as well. 2xactinic 2x10k daylights. It is a 48" Fixture, comes with a set of legs as well. More info can be found here.. http://www.bigalsonline.com/BigAlsUS...plight4x65watt

    Worried about Clown

He seems fine, hes coming out and swiming around, actually hes been accepted as being hosted by my anemone all of a sudden and just lays in it. Except, he still doesn;t eat.

    Worried about Clown

Got 2 black saddle clowns about 3 days ago, one has started acting a little funny and wont eat. He seems to be hiding in the back of the tank beneath some rock. The other is fine and swimming as well as eating. What should i do?

    My Clowns

Just got these yesterday from Rose City, BIG clowns. Are these both black saddle's? Also it's normal for them to chase the fire goby's a little at first, isn't it?
  15. Im seeing a low around 79, and a high around 83 or 84. What can i do to stabliize these temps, or do you think they are fine? I have LPS, soft corals, 2 firefish, and 2 clowns in there.

    What next?

Got 2 decent size black and whites from Rose City for a great price. drip acclimated them for 2 hours, now they are doing their usual fast breathing and hiding out in the DT. How long should i expect them to act this way?

    What next?

I was leaning toward the black and white clownies, they seem more intelligent. What are most likely to host? And arent the black and whites more spendy?

    What next?

Firefish are doing very well, have an established hole/home in a rock, and have been eating vigorously anytime food is placed in tank. They seem to be doing well, have had them for 1.5 weeks. I was wanting some insight on my next fish; i know i want a niger trigger, melanarus wrasse, 2 clowns (that will most likely host my torch coral), and possibly a tang. Which of these do you advise i get first? I heard niger's have been known to be aggressive and eat other fish.
  23. So according to that article, corals, especially mine (mainly soft corals, an LPS torch coral, mushrooms, and acans) should be fine at the temperatures they are seeing?
  24. I think its set to 78. but i dont really know how to work it, like how to reset the temperature.
  25. Got a thermometer today, Temperatures reached 84F with the halides on for 5 hours and are now at 82F, halides have been off for 4.5 hours, looks like its gonna stay at 82. Seems too high, am i right?
