  14. Top of my list are Leaving rodi on over night( it's in my kitchen) and in the morning finding about a half inch of water on the dinning room floor best guess is 40+ gallons.(blew a breaker) Having my drain fall off the back of my tank when it was running( it is on the wall with a heater right below it) lucky I was in the other room only lost 5-10 gallons ( blew the breaker) And my favorite is a tie. 1. Wonder why I was loosing all my coral when I had my tank first setup. I was using pacific coast imports salt! 2. Getting my first skimmer and putting in my in my system when I was setting it up and not being able to figure out why it wasn't make a lot of bubbles. No salt in the water yet!
  15. Your right I did think of them as all the same. Thanks for the info. So it would seem that the pump that should be used is one that your overflow can handle. Higher gph the better. So I'll ask this, in sump or external pump? Do you plain on having a fuge in the sump? Alex how much flow do you have through your sump?
  16. Way to go Miles! Congratulation!!!!!
  17. Looks like they are k1s let me know if you want to use them. Pm me and we can meet up.
  18. I have two koralia power heads I think they are 2s I'll look when I get home. You could use. How big of a tank do you have?
  19. Very true! I did fail to state that the info in my last post was for a basic reef tank. Not a sps system, that being said and after reading the quoted post I would try and shot for a bit more flow then what ever skimmer you plan on using. My guess would be if said skimmer can process 500 gph try and get 700-800 gph through the sump if it's a in sump skimmer. Would more then that just be overkill, going through the sump unprocessed? Didn't read or hear that anywhere just came up with it. How does that sound?
  20. From what I have read and have been told the ideal flow through a sump should be 3-5x tank volume and flow in your tank should be 10x+ tank volume. So it seems to me that you would need a closed loop or power heads. It would be nice to have one pump run all/most items ( return, skimmer, reactor, uv etc.) So pick a pump that is quality, low wattage, quiet that can run all your acc and still flow 5x your tank volume through your sump. How big a sump are you going to use?
