  1. (clap)(clap)(clap) Let me know where and to whom I need to send the money too. I also need to know how much it is going to be to have mine shipped down to Eugene. Miles and I are going to have them shipped together. (rock2)(rock2)(rock2)

Ok, here is the final outcome. I have a union at the pump if I need to replace or service. I also have a ball valve to shut down water flow if needed to service pump and to control flow. I went with 1/2" on the return so I didn't lose too much pressure. Does anybody see anything I might have missed or did wrong before I glue this all together?

    Thanks

  3. So I am plumbing a 38 gallon. I am using a mag 5 pump for the return. It has a 1/2" outlet. My question is should I step that up right out of the pump? Maybe step it up to 1" or 3/4" or would it be best to leave it 1/2" pipe all they way to the top of the tank? (scratch)

    Thanks

  4. Sounds like I will be getting some more tubing and remounting the DI units. Should it go into the bottom and out the top? Or should it be the other way around? Thanks

  5. So I am thinking of turning my 55 gallon cichlid tank into a FOWLR tank. My question is, Do you need to have a skimmer on a FOWLR tank? Or is a skimmer something you only need to run on a reef tank? Another question is with the CC I have in the tank. It is a mix of 90% CC and 10% of regular gravel. Is there a problem with having regular gravel in a salt water tank? Picking out the gravel would be a pain in the ---. I would be running a Rena XP3 canister filter and a Aqua Clear 110 which I could turn into a mini fuge. What does everybody think? Easy switch or is there a bunch of things I need to do like set up a sump with skimmer and stuff. (scratch)

    Thanks for the imput

  6. Welcome, I am also here in the Eugene area. The Eugene area people useally have some kind of meet and greet every month or so. You will have to attend and put some faces with names. Everybody on this site are so knowledgeable and helpful. It seems some of these people are marine biologists they know there stuff so well. Anyway, how about some pictures of your tank.

  7. Thats what I decided to do with my 55 gallon cichlid tank today. I will start the process very soon. I will now have 3 different tanks I am setting up. A 38 gallon reef, a 33 gallon long frag tank and now the 55 gallon FOWLR tank. What am I thinking? (nutty) All in a one bedroom apartment. (nutty)(nutty).

  8. Hey Garrett, I have heard so many good things about your place. I was going to try and make it up there one day after work with Jon (newfisher). I wanted to know if you stocked Salifert test kits. I would rather buy them through you then order them from Marine Depot.

    Thanks Bryan
