Mine look like that everytime I touch the water in my tank or breath on the tank>>> But I have had mine for three years, and they come back. Give it time and make sure they have stability!! They hate change..
Good luck

I hate giving advice as I am so new but... when was the last time your filters in your RO system were changed? Just a thought
I forgot to mention that too!!! Maybe a big factor with the Cyano

Im sure you have but just yesterday I had a temp spike to 84 degrees. My Heater got stuck when I was moving some things around in my sump and I think I bumpt it. Anyways I thought TEMP!!! It pisses off all LPS and some sps depending on where in the tank they are( high /Low).
Anyways My Two Cents

I was wondering if any one from Eugene is going up to Garrett's place anytime soon. Or anyone from Salem coming down. I'm going to buy a refractometer from him but I don't have time to go up there and get it myself. Garrett mentioned the Jon (newfisher) would be going up there soon but he was sure when.
Always willing to work for frags. I travel to Eugene almost Daily.... I can probly deliver tomorrow(friday Morning) well around 10:00am..Even if you dont have frags I can most likely do this for you, Im alwats happy to meet another Reefer. I live blocks away from Garrett.

Can you take a picture of the coral. i've had a problem recently where some of sps have looked like they got scalped didn't know what was going on. How did you catch him?
Well I tried to just stick him with a toothpick(nutty). Then I was getting pissed, so I had just mounted the coral with superglue about 2 months ago, so I broke it at the glue and put him in a tupperware bowl of Salt water, and picked him off...Sorry know easy answere to that question.
He is pretty small and mimics a symbiotic host so at first I didnt even notice him. I dont even know how long he has been in there.
Anyways Im glad he's out.
I just bought these corals a couple months so, if you have too, they may be coming in from somewhere. like a batch of corals.\best found under Actinic as there eyes glow greenish blue..
I will try and get a pick, but my camera Batt, is dead. I will later or in the morning, so you know what Im talking about..

Have any of you found one of these? I spotted this guy picking on my Pink MilliPora the other night and didnt know where it came from(scratch), or if it was cleaning or eating my Milli. I noticed tonight that one of the tips of the milli was bald and white, just the tip(flame). So I did some searching on the web and sure enough, others had the same problem. So I pulled him off the Milli, which was not easy!!!
Ive heard of others banishing to the sump. Is this a good idea? Anybody want this little guy?

Thanks, The reason I ask about the Calibration solution is, I have a packet of 7.01 and I checked the meter acouple days ago and it was 7.0, but then I checked yesterday and the meter read 7.5 in the same solution.. I kept the solution sealed in a container but yes it was a Packet type , not a bottle. My worry is my effluent is 6.6 but now I dont know if it actually 7.1 if my Meter is off...I will just buy more and recheck.

I have a couple Question, and I know you good people can help..
1- On a new Calcium Reactor setup, how long does it take for the Efluent to start dessolving the Media?
2- Once you open a PH Meter Calibration liquid, how long does it stay good? If I needed to get more where could I get some?
Well I guess thats 3 Questions DOH!

They both will do the job, the real differance is that the one that flows down will create a fine sand in the media but wont hurt anything, may end up cloging the media over time but I ran mine for about 2 years without that issue, it's also less of an issue if ya use the PCI media thats a bit chunky. The other way kinda brakes down all the pieces of media evenly, they get suspended in the water collum and serculate through the chamber giving each one its moment in the sun to speek. Both will do the same job though and nether one will do it better than the other.
So when ya chose which one to use is the other one going to the classifieds?
No, I think I am going to use the Coral Life one for Cal Rect, and the other I am going to turn into a Phosban reactor.
I would be interested in Trade for a Phosban Reactor W/Pump. (whistle) It would save me the trouble of converting it.

Yes. Flower Pot. I've had mine for about 1 1/2 years. He does'nt have the extension he used to but still bright. And yes they do much better on sandbed.
Good luck.

I have a Chalice that has a Sponge, well it looks like a Sponge growing next to it on the same rock. It is Grey and looks kinda like a Sponge but looks to have a spoute or opening on it thats round, like a spoute hole.
My question is if they are any threat to my Chalice?.(scratch)
