  1. How funny. I was just about to come post about this. Ours has been out for about an hour now. We don't have an inverter or generator...any advice??
  2. Emily is number 2 and final no more kids for us. Her brother is Orion he is 2 1/2 he was born on may 14th they were born exactly 2 yrs 6 months to the day apart.
  3. Well we were scheduled to have our baby on Monday but she had other plans. Emily was born at 11:29 pm November 14 2009 she is 5 lbs 14 oz 19 1/2" long Mom and Baby are doing great.(clap)(yahoo)(rock2)(party)(dancing)
  4. Just out of curiosity... When a conservative voices their displeasure about the current administration, why is it seen as a plot to overthrow the elected President and administration, but in the last administration, when a non-conservative did the same, it was freedom of speech and down right "necessary"? Not trying to stir up the pot, but I'm genuinely curious as to why there is such a double standard for so many of those types of things.
  5. System Specs: 95 gallon glass display tank 40 gallon glass sump/ref tank 2 250w 10K MH 4 110w VHO super actinics 2 65w PC's 67k in the ref tank 4 Koralia 1 power heads Mag 12 return pump/protein skimmer pump Protein skimmer 160 lbs or so LR in display tank We put the frag in the upper right corner of our tank (so far) with no issues of it moving around (either by snails, circulation or fish)...you can kind of see it in this picture towards the top.
  6. Right now our schedule is actinics on at 8 or 9 am and off at 9:30 pm, MH on at noon and off at 8 pm, bright moon lights on at 9:25 pm and off at 10:30 pm, and then the dim moon lights stay on all the time.
  7. So, just out of curiosity, we were wondering if our moon lights need to stay on all night. Does anyone ever shut off ALL of their lights for any amount of time? Are there pros/cons to doing so?
  8. mine opened up right away within the first hour so far so good!!
  9. Please count me in that is sweet and it looks better in person!!!!
  10. I may have one available tonight I will get dims and pics for you
  11. Yeah, he's got lots to eat...plenty of algae in the tank for him to nom on.... We've had him for a few weeks now and was doing just fine before today. :(
  12. So, we noticed last night that our Long-Spine had lost a spine...and while we know this happens, we decided to keep an eye on him. Today, he's lost about five more. Everything we've read and researched says that it's probably not good and a sign of poor water quality, but our tank checks out. Is there something else we should be doing or testing for??? pH 8.3 Ammonia 0 Nitrite 0 Nitrate Around 10 Calcium 410 Salinity 1.024 Temp 79
  13. I am new to saltwater also. I have a 95 gal display, 40 gal refugium/sump, and an external skimmer I am not running any canisters. From what I understand it kind of depends on if you are setting up a reef or fish only tank.
  14. That is what we thought but we were not positive. Thanks
  15. So, we were going to swap out all four of our T5's for actinic T5's...currently we're running 2 actinics and 2 white. The two actinics we have now are 54W bulbs, but when we placed the lighting order, we ended up ordering four 24W bulbs. What kind of effect will 24W bulbs have on the tank as opposed to having the 54W bulbs?? Should we exchange them for four 54W bulbs? What's the difference in general (besides the number before the W...(laugh) ).
  16. It's my son's name, actually. And that's partially why we chose it...not too weird, but unique enough that there won't be 12 of him in his kindergarten class. heh
  17. A mother and her 5-year-old son were flying Southwest Airlines from Denver to Dallas. The son (who had been looking out the window) turned to his mother and asked, 'If big dogs have baby dogs and big cats have baby cats, why don't big planes have baby planes?" The mother, who couldn't think of an answer, told her son to ask the flight attendant. So the little guy walks up to the galley and asks the flight attendant, 'If big dogs have baby dogs and big cats have baby cats, why don't big planes have baby planes?" The flight attendant responded, "Did your mother tell you to ask me that?" The boy said, "Yes, she did......" "Well, then, please tell your mother that there are no baby planes because Southwest always pulls out on time. Have her explain that to you."
  18. I never quite figured out why the sexual urge of men and women differ so much. And I never have figured out the whole Venus and Mars thing. I have never figured out why men think with their head and women with their heart. FOR EXAMPLE: One evening last week, my girlfriend and I were getting into bed. Well, the passion starts to heat up, and she eventually says, 'I don't feel like it, I just want you to hold me.' I said, 'WHAT??!! What was that?!' So she says the words that every boyfriend on the planet dreads to hear... 'You're just not in touch with my emotional needs as a woman enough for me to satisfy your physical needs as a man.' She responded to my puzzled look by saying, 'Can't you just love me for who I am and not what I do for you in the bedroom?' Realizing that nothing was going to happen that night, I went to sleep. The very next day I opted to take the day off of work to spend time with her. We went out to a nice lunch and then went shopping at a big, big unnamed department store. I walked around with her while she tried on several different very expensive outfits. She couldn't decide which one to take, so I told her we'd just buy them all. She wanted new shoes to compliment her new clothes, so I said, 'Lets get a pair for each outfit.' We went on to the jewellery department where she picked out a pair of diamond earrings. Let me tell you... She was so excited. She must have thought I was one wave short of a shipwreck. I started to think she was testing me because she asked for a tennis bracelet when she doesn't even know how to play tennis. I think I threw her for a loop when I said, 'That's fine, honey.' She was almost nearing sexual satisfaction from all of the excitement. Smiling with excited anticipation, she finally said, 'I think this is all Dear, let's go to the cashier.' I could hardly contain myself when I blurted out, 'No honey, I don't feel like it.' Her face just went completely blank as her jaw dropped with a baffled, 'WHAT?' I then said, 'Honey! I just want you to HOLD this stuff for a while. You're just not in touch with my financial needs as a man enough for me to satisfy your shopping needs as a woman.' And just when she had this look like she was going to kill me, I added, 'Why can't you just love me for who I am and not for the things I buy you?' Apparently I'm not having sex tonight either....but at least she knows I'm smarter than her.
  19. First, perhaps you should stop dropping the phones in the fish tank. Second, the ENV Touch isn't too bad from what I hear. I still can't find anything that I like more than my BlackBerry though.
  20. Completely understandable. My wife does free-lance photography and of course, the point and shoots do absolutely nothing for her. I got her this for her birthday a couple of years ago and now she's ready to step up to a "pro" camera. Silly thing has more bells and whistles than Darth Vader's bathroom, but luckily, I'll still be able to focus it and push the button for what I want. heh We'll probably pick that up this week (tomorrow or Friday?), so let me know when you want to get together. I'll even bring her with me this time so we can work out a trade.
  21. A frag and camera? Dang, I think I might be getting the better end of the deal...lol
