Does anyone else have fish that aren't that bright? Today I can downstairs and had to save my little foxface rabbitfish. Apparently a small piece or nori got stuck to the side of one of my powerheads and the little foxface decided to go after it from what I can piece together. He was sucked up against the side of my powerhead. I turned it off and away he went. He had a few indents on his side but seems to be ok.
Are there any reef safe hawkfish? I saw a flame hawk that I liked but reading some online said they like small fish and small crustaceans. I have snails and hermit crabs, and I would like to keep them alive along with my corals.
Yeah. He and his tank are pretty cool. Ive been trying to keep up with the thread. I drove all the way up to his place to help him out one day after he got out of the hospital the first time. Id go help again if he was closer. Hes almost in Canada.
He seems to be doing fine and settled in now. He started to eat and his foot is buried in the sand now. Hope he likes it there now. He stung a few polyps while moving around the tank, but everything seems to be ok now.
I agree. He swung by my place here in Longview when I first set up my tank. Great guy indeed. I'd like to see his tank sometime too. Everything I got from him is doing great.
I think I want to build an inexpensive ATO. I was thinking a container next to my tank with a small pump and a float switch. Im heading to portland this weekend. Is there anywhere I can pick up the parts for cheap? Like the electric float swithches. Or should I order them from online somewhere.
What and how often should I feed my little foxface? All the hair algae is gone now. I currently alternate feeding frozen krill/mysis and freeze dried krill every day. So they get frozen one day and dry the next. I was going to get dried seaweed next time I go to the store. The foxface wont eat mysis will he? So what and how often should I feed?
Picked up a small foxface rabbitfish. All my hair algae was gone the day after I added him. And the brown in my tank is finally clearing up. I was amazed how much purple I actually have on the rocks.
Picked up the RO/DI and have already did a large water chance. Noticed things look better already. I found a deal on 2 more k4s. So now Im running 3. Seems to be enough flow now. One of the yumas didnt make it and the other is looking kind of sad but holding on. I also purchased my first coral the other day. I picked up a bubble wall coral. It looks awesome. I also picked up a carpet anemone. It moved last night. Hopefully it will find a spot soon.
