  1. Thanks, LOL, I couldn't resist getting that pic when the chance arose. My daughter sure enjoyed the meeting. The way she was talking I wouldn't be surprised if she tried breeding fish in a couple of buckets.
  2. Nice, I was checking into getting another moray eel last week as a replacement for the trigger my RBTA ate. (Hadn't decide which one yet) Ended up with the Blue Face Angel instead though.
  3. LOL, I checked through my pics just to make sure I had both of you in one. Your welcome, I need the practice as I have a wedding to shoot here pretty quick and I'm using new equipment.
  4. Sounds great. Here are some of the pics I took to add to the collection. I think I was able to get pictures of everyone there. If not I apologize.
  5. I have 3 B/W's (One from you), 2 Cinnamons (also one from you), and one lonely Clarkii. (Hint, Hint) Funny thing is I mentioned to Doran on the way home that maybe you will have Clarkiis by the next Clownhouse meeting.
  6. It can be done but I would suggest a 250w instead which is what I ended up doing. (I was having problems keeping the tank cool) I was able to swap my ballast with another member here. I would go with T5's instead of T8's. You will get a lot more light per watt if you do.
  7. Yes, I still have it. Send me a PM with your phone number and I'll give you a call.
  8. I'll be at the meeting today if someone from down there is coming to it.
  9. I have a 3/4" SCWD with instructions that is like new that I'll sell for $30. I had it hooked up for a couple of days but my tank isn't really set up to get much benefit from it (returns are too close to each other) so I took it back off. Send me a PM if interested.
  10. I saw that and was trying to figure out the dimensions. Looks like it's about 30" high by 18" deep. Makes it look huge however I would have trouble dealing with the depth. (18" isn't enough for a big tank like that) I also was trying to figure out where the live rock is. Unless there is a sump underneath which I think would be mentioned in the ad there can't be much.
  11. Hit is with a heavy stream of water (I use the shower hose with the head removed). Once it softens up most of this will come out with a stream of hot water.

I think that's the same. I think the white is just where the flesh has become thin. Kilmca is Calvins user name here. Here's a picture of mine which came directly from Calvin.
  13. They are most likely to host Stichodactyla Gigantea or Stichodactyla Mertensii (Merten's Carpet) however in captivity they often host whatever is available including corals and even power heads. Mine have hosted Stichodactyla Haddoni however my cinnamon clown chased them out of it (and later the RBTA they were hosting). I currently have a Stichodactyla Haddoni with a Clarkii in it (Clarkii and Saddlebacks are the two most likely to be found in the Stichodactyla Haddoni) and the RBTA with 2 Cinnamons in it. Since the Cinnamons chased my B/W's out of the RBTA they now just host whatever is on their side of the tank. (Zoas, Candy Canes, etc.)
  14. This worries me a bit. While cleaner shrimp are normally right there when food is in the tank they normally will not pick little pieces of skin of nems or corals unless (and this is what worries me) they are dead or dying. Do you have a pic of the anemone? Might help if we can see it to see if there is a potential problem with it.
  15. This one has already changed which was one of the reasons I got it. Based on the size I'm guessing that it hasn't been very long since it changed either. As juveniles they are striped similar to some of the other angels. Here is a link to a picture of one: http://www.reefhotspot.com/store/product_info.php?products_id=1622
  16. They didn't have any used ones or I would have brought them home with the rest of the T5 parts. If I buy new ones I'll check with them first. Not really a new project. When I made the fixture for my lights I set it up to hold 4 T5's even though I only had the parts for 2. I picked up everything I need for the other 2 (including bulbs) from Robert and Cos except the standoffs. I actually got all 4 bulbs so I can change the color as well. The violet color from the 420nm actinic bulb in there is great for making the colors pop but it just doesn't look right so I'm gonna go with something closer to 460nm instead to get a blue color. We came up with a mix of bulbs using a fixture there yesterday that I think will look pretty good.
  17. Is your number still the same? I'll try to call you later today.
  18. Thanks, too far though. I can order them from Garrett (which is where I got my last ones) but was hoping to find something I could get local today. I may call around to the shops later today and see what they have stuffed in the use parts piles. If that fails I may just take some acrylic and make some.
  19. That's about what I expected. May end up going to Newport again. (Been 10 years or so I think)
  20. I'm looking for 4 - T5 endcap bases. I have the endcaps already so I don't really need them however when I set up my fixture I set it up to work with the bases which are missing.
  21. Me and my wife are planning to spend a couple of days at the beach and maybe visit one of the aquariums down there so we're looking for some input. (What, where, etc.)
  22. Well, it seens to settling in fine. Just a little shy but less than I had expected. (Been coming out in front every 10 or 15 minutes) I was able to get a couple of pics of it along with the Gold Rim Tang that I got yesterday. Not the greatest pics but they do show both.
