Our focus is to farm some amazing corals. We are not your average LFS. A big part of our customer base are collectors from out of state. I do however look forward to having some of the awesome people I have met locally visit our shop.

I truly love this hobby and I am very familiar with the business side as I managed a LFS for several years. I have a long term dream of farming beautiful coral and I plan to work very hard to make it happen. Times are tough for everyone right now but it is the time for me to make my dream happen.

We would rent a space locally to house the event. It would be open for local farmers, aquarium shops and related companies. This would be a great venue for coral farmers to showcase and sell their product. It would also give local reefers access to the best in farmed coral at amazing prices. We could hold product and coral raffles and auctions. I think it could be a lot of fun and would help promote sustainable reef keeping.

Totally Exotic Corals would be a key vendor for the event! I will have to look into vendor display tanks.

I would use Steve Tyree's and Art Petit's Coral farmers market as a model for the event.

I think it could be an annual event. Farmed fish are a possibility also.

I would also like to know if local reefers would attend a coral farmers market. Please give me your feedback. Thanks. -Isaac

Are there any coral farmers interested in participating in a Portland coral farmers market? Even though it would be called the Portland coral farmers market it could include farmers from anywhere. I am considering taking on the task of organizing such an event but I need to know if I have the support of our local farmers and reef enthusiasts.
