OK heres a couple things. you want to buy some fish that help break in your tank... like blue green chromis they are cheep. the next thing is YOU FEED YOUR FISH EVERY DAY. water temp should be a little lower like 80 deg. your lights around 8 hr then off for 16 hr. if you bought the fish from a local store then let us know so we can stay away form that store. they should have never sold you those fish for a new setup tank. and should never sold you a grouper at all. most grouper grow 16-40 inch. and will eat your other fish. dont give up. just ask you can save your self alot of money and frustration.

I have a very big one. and he has never killed a fish. but a couple of shrimp did come up missing. but that could have been due to the wrasse.

WOW now thats one nice set up. Thank you for the info. I am just setting up a frag tank and the lights were the next thing on my list to buy. my ele. bill runs arounds 475.00 a month. and sure that another MH will send it over 500.00 so I was thinking about using LED lights for the hole system as the main lights for both the main and frag tanks. cant wait to see the out come. hoping the lights work out and wishing you the best. chuck

MY favorite fish had a stroke I think. got up this morning and my Melanarus Wrasse is not the same. He use to swim back and forth across the hole front of the tank he love people. you could feed him out of your hand. now he looks like he lost. mouth wide open swims in one small area bumps into the reef and he looks like he looking all over the place for somthing with is eyes. His buddy the blue tang wont leave his side. she is keeping the other fish away from the area. I think his days are near the end.

you cant tell. as I said its not used much these days. But in the case of the coral beauty its a fast shy fish that can dive into a hole faster then you mite think. I was told about the use of arseric when I bought my coral beauty about 5-6 years ago from woody

put your money into corals better return.

It could be that the person that cought the fish in the wild used arsnick. this stuns the fish so they can be cought easy. over 90% die with in 3 months from arsnick poisoning. where this was a common use. today it is only about 5-10% I hope some day it will be 0%

they open at night. but you can train them with food to open when you feed or when the lights come on by feeding them at that time
