  1. I know! I see how fueled the bio ball debate got and I really want to know about what iIshould do with mine but am afraid to ask! Hope the store is going along as it should! Can't wait to come see after it's open! I've got a huge list for you
  2. Thank you! I'm going to be hitting up the LFS for so much stuff! My list is growing and growing!!! Thank you all for the thoughts! I've never been to Waves! I can't wait!
  3. Another inquiry into my tanks rehab..... When I got the tank back an moved it I found the flame scallops rock that he called home had been turned over on him. I don't know why he stayed there... or maybe he doesn't move? I thought he was a goner but he soon opened up and now is looking great except he has none of his tentacles or well whatever they are called are gone? Should I be feeding it something special to help him?? Although I am pretty sure this is the same guy and same rock I have considered something else though (cause I can't remember alot about my tank that I should!) ....maybe this is not him? Could this be someone new? Thank you again for all of the great help!
  4. By now everyone probably has seen I just got the tank back and it's getting better. Just a few problems with it well me maybe (scratch) ..... one was a huge outbreak of aiptasia! Nope.... it didn't die off like everything else (laugh) I've never had a problem with it so I'm not sure how to rid my tank of it. I have heard that peppermints can do the trick. All of the aiptasia left that I couldn't kill is on coral areas. I don't want to stress them anymore than they have been but want the aiptasia gone. I'd love to hear first hand thoughts on peppermints??? How many I should have? Or another route?
  5. I've got a million questions so sorry! After getting my tank back one of the few corals alive was the mushrooms. They were small and kinda shrively all on one rock that also has zooz but they looked more like little mushy balls as well. So now that the tank is in good health and the water is not too salty (was over 1.3!!!!) the mushrooms and zoos are opening up but there are 30 plus mushrooms on this rock about the size of a volleyball. THe zoos are not happy cause they are covered up when all of these muchrooms swell. I have never cut or fragged any of the corals when I had the tank before. I just let everyone grow HUGE! I have no clue how to give these guys more room and am wondering if anyone has a suggestion? It would be too hard to break the rock. Is there a way to get them to move on their own? My pictures are awful so they might not help.... This rock also has aiptasia. I have got rid of alot of it in the tank except a few critical areas.
  6. Ok so I just got my tank back. I haven't had it since Sept 2007. The thing is at one point I could tell you the spects. Now I can't remember much but the ligthing? Someone asked me what type of system skimmer, flow, etc and I'm clueless? Anyone have any thoughts on how I can identify my flow and skimmers? Yeah I know... so lame I probably shouldn't have recieved them back (whistle) I'd love some help. I've got about a million questions at this point??? I've got 125gallon reef tank. It's custom cut glass with back overflows. 25 gallon ref with bioballs (yeah.... my next question?). has a skimmer. No UV sterilizer (there's another question!).
  7. Thank you! Read my mind... was just thinking I was going to have to start searching.

    Duncan problems

I am falling in love with Duncan's. Sorry you lost it. Thank you for the thread though! Lots of great thoughts!!!!
  11. I am about to go buy all new test kits and was wondering if anyone has any suggestions as to a brand or particular kit. With so many types of tests is there any particular one that has most of them in it??? Thank you again!
  12. Thank you Michael7979. The coral in #7 is huge. I don't know how it survived the past year but is a VERY hardy coral. I wish I could take decent pictures. The colors of it are AMAZING!
  13. This tank needs more time before anyone goes anywhere. The captor had threw in a bout 7-10 huge (turbo?) snails that I want gone but the water when I got it back was above 1.3 (not to mention toxic!) so I think everyone would die in a normal tank from shock. I've got a gradual salt removal going but have been doing it slow so noone gets hurt. I have had the saltwater tanks for a number of years but have never cut a coral. I'm really looking forward to learning how to frag out corals and photograph them!
  14. I would love to see pictures of the baby shrimp. Just amazing pictures!!!!
