  1. Pictures like the squid make me love my tank so much more
  2. I watched a show on this where a daughter was burrying her mom. I am amazed they make money like this too. Glad the reef is benefiting thoguh!
  3. I don't really know anyone here yet very well but saw a birthday on the Calendar and wanted to wish Shooter9er (29 does today make the big 30?) a very Happy Birthday.... especially since I'm hitting that one soon! HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!!!(party) (PARTY)
  4. Thank you for the help. At least I have a pretty good idea now.
  5. They are so cute! Thank you for posting the pictures!!!! Labs are such great dogs.
  6. I love the colors there Stylaster! These corals are all amazing!
  7. The coral grows as slow as the money comes in unfortunately It has been a big adventure to get people to move it, new bulbs, new well everything. I got a great deal on some snails from Dorian (HOPE HIS STORE OPENING GOES GREAT!!! Tommorrow I think?) I broke down and got a great deal on a clam that I feel in love with, but the corals are coming!!!
  8. Thank you! It is slow but the pictures from six weeks ago are amazing comparatively. I resisted and did very gradual water changes instead of huge ones. I even moved gallons and gallons of toxic water with the tank which killed me so they would not go into shock. The salt levels were so high I figured the drop would result in the rest of the tank. I am glad i did though! Just this one the colors have morphed so much. I had an amazing brain maze. Super deep purple and very bright green. Very vivid. Infact I think you can see it (it's skeleton that is) in the middle top of the tank. Looks like a round rock now. There were only a few spots of it left. Infact looked more like a favia. the spots were round with a small dot for a mouth, no maze lines. Just in the last six weeks of slwo water changes the purple had doubled and is very thick. The green mouth is now lines through it as a maze should be instead of small dots. It's amazing how easily something can be killed but yet how hardy they can be at the same time.
  9. I just found a picture for Supernova Psammacora and the color as well as the shape seem pretty dead on. granted the picture I googled is as bad as mine are but I'm thinking you got something here.
  10. Thank you! Everyone is asleep in this picture. The lights Just came on when I took this picture. That clam is fabulous when it opens up. That clam is the one whos got me thinking about more clams this time. Infact he's a new addition! He's only 3.5 inches so I'm following your advise about feeding. He is a baby compared to my other who is 8 inches. I've got the new one low in the tank right now. His colors show so nice lower but after your advise (stylaster) I may have to move it up top.
  11. After Chewie's post I'm leaning towards Pavona. It can't find a google picture of one exactly like mine though. The Pavona pictures are very thin and even called potatoe chip coral cause of their shape. Mine is fat. The ones pictures on goodle have the fuzz all over where as mine only has fuzz in the orange now purple sections. The vibrant green is flat like my favias eyes. Granted this one was in an abused tank so it might be shaped poorly cause of the abuse??? The color change from six weeks ago is amazing to me.
  12. I have a frag of something growing in my tank that I don't know what it is. (scratch) Anyone have any thoughts? It was really orange with small green spots but now that the tank is "healing" it is turning very bright green in most spots with small orange areas. When the halides come on it gets really "fuzzy" (I have no clue what it's really called I'm terrible with terms) and at night it has long feeding "feelers". I haven't seen the "feelers" since it started turning green though. I hope that it is feeding still so I hope to identify it so I can take better care of it. It has been getting Very "fuzzy" lately and looks happy just no feeding feelers. The first picture was right after I got the tank back and salt was still above 1.3 and completely toxic on all levels. The middle two are yesterday now that tank is doing good (almost) and the last is just of the tank as pathetic as it currently is Thank you once again!
  13. Some pictures of before I'm going to do as suggested and cut the tips off this weekend. Hopefully, I get some time to do it.
  14. I use to take huge bags of that stuff to caye's and the cactus type too. I don't know if they still have it in the shop or not. That was when I had my tank before the hostage situation so probably 1.5 years ago. If you want more Cactus I can get you a bunch of that. I don't have any stores close and wondering what I'm going to do with it now anyways.
  15. I was just talking about coming to an event.... Couldn't have picked a better one!
  16. Novus does work great. I used it for an acrylic some time ago but them ended up fixxing everything around my house. I even did a cd or two.
  17. So............ (whistle) when is this competion for who's BBQ is better cause I'm signing up for a judge (hungry). I'll bring the microbrew (drinking) !!! Use to bartend could take care of that too. But really, I am making a list and trying some of these places. Sounds great and I've not heard of a few of them.
  18. I knew I should have been looking closer in the tank. I thought my crab looked like Vaati and the snails seem a lot like Sahasralah..... hummm???
  19. I'm not good yet identifying them but I think it will be croceas that I'd be looking for. I am very fond of the green and turquoise mantels right now so it could be a maxima. Looks like either one likes the top. Thank you for the great advise!
  20. That is really cool. You should try to post some pictures. I'm sure we'd all love that!
  21. STYLASTER, you have been doing the clam thing for awhile. Every place I go they have a different light set up. My lights would never look the same ofcourse once I get something in the tank... how do I pick out that perfect clam. So many of them are pictured and seen from above, where as my tank is custom built so the stand is taller than most stands so when you are standing up you don't so much look down but across? Do clams do ok in the lower part of the tank?
  22. I'll have to try for some pictures tomorrow when I'm off at work. I have a coral I'd like help identifying so I need some pictures anyways. I believe it is though.
  23. As far as lighting. I have two metal halides 400w 20k. I also have 2 x super actinic and 2 x actinic white 110w 46.5in bulbs that run 12 hours.
  24. I don't plan on to many. I was thinking two possibly three if my tank can sustain it. I love mine. I see others in the stores and they are so tiny like babies compaired to mine but there are some beautiful color variations! When you have the smaller ones that need fed do you add the food to the water or do you have to spot feed. I'd think they would close up so spot feeding might be hard?
  25. Seahorse has premixed saltwater $4 for 5 gallons. Freshwater is $1 for 5 gallons. I don't think watermachines even beat that. Plus I've never seen a water machine with such a nice view!
