I have no great words of wisdom but I will say WELCOME! Your tank looks great to me you arranged it very well, even that birds nest has a little appeal. Seed the sand & rock as Rick said. Keep posting up those pics & enjoy.

ok so jody and i have this doesn't anyone else???
I do, in fact when it first came to town my step son tried to get Ray to sell him the frag. Ray declined saying it might be something to hang on to. Looks like he was right
-
Hey Jody, I need to get a piece of that. Can you get a fat frag ready for me? LMK thanks. Chris
-
I bet it would, I don't doubt that at all.
However, I rather aquaculture more of these two Hydnophoras than send frags of them to their death. :p
Best regards, Ricky Soutas Jr.

I have a frag of your hydno & it got swept by a frogspawn causing damage to the hydno. You are right about it being greener than green & I love the thing so I cut 25 heads off the frogspawn. I need to get back up there & get a few more goodies from ya.

Loosing corals does bite, especially when all of your parameters are perfect and you cant figure out why they are dying. I was almost ready to give up. Finding that copper plug in my tank was a great day! I felt like a huge weight was lifted off of my shoulders! It didn't take long either for the existing corals to start looking better. I would say my colors are about 75% back (up from 25%).
Thanks for the Garf Bonsai! I can't wait to get it in my tank!!!
I could not figure out what you ment by copper plug untill you posted a pic. I had no idea such a thing could cause such damage. Looks like your tank is rebounding well.

wow that is a lot of clown fish in one spot, way cool.
-
I think the frag packs should go to the losers since the winners obviously dont need to add anything to their already perfect tank.
Maybe I should enter this if the last place guy gets the reward.

wow' date=' I am i the lead... i hope i win(laugh)[/quote']
If your tank is (D) you should win, that is a awsome tank. Well selected & placed corals. Tank (E) is a close runner up imo.

What color is your valute cover? Gray or white? The white cover has been out of a few months now, I don't think it has changed...
Randy & Epicenter, what sized tanks do you have your 250's running on?
Randy, both MSX and ATB are making flow based pumps with the Askoll 1500 motor block! They rock! They are very reasonably priced too! I am going to use one for a return pump on my next tank!
Brandon, sorry for hi-jacking your build thread with equipment talk...these kind of things get me excited!
175 & valute is white like in picture. I had a brain fade when posting this sorry. Brandon way cool tank glad to see it getting set up. My son inlaw had that tank built buy Ray. Son inlaw got caught up with a bad business deal & lost his store. Those tanks were his show tanks. Richard purchased them from Ron who locked up Michaels store over 4,500.00 back rent. Some have no mercy. Glad to see them with water once again. Peace out,,,,

Its hard to put a gallon rating on a skimmer cause there are so many variables...but I don't think your new tank tied to your frag system is anything that skimmer wouldn't handle.
If you had any concerns though, you could always ditch the Sicce pumps and upgrade to this bad boy:
Its $300 and pulls close to 100 SCFH!
If you guys cant tell, I LIKE SKIMMERS! lol...I only wish I had a big enough tank to run one of theses beasts.
I just got a SWC250A last week & it does not have the ozone pickup like this shows. it has a pluged tube on back of valute which I accidentaly snapped off. Is this one shown the newest Askol valute?

How does a guy get his tank considered for this? Not that I have anything worthy.
-
I like that zania gone wild look, kinda brings back memories. Nice take, keep stirin the salt......

WOW, great looking tank, wish I knew how to take better picks like these here. Mine never get close to the real color. Any how, great reef you have there.
-

Coral Growth!
in SPS
I am wondering why all I see is red x's instead of pictures
-
LOL when opening this thread I thought I was finally going to learn how to avoid the down-turns of sps health & happiness. It is a rise & fall adventure for sure.

I've been into favias more and more. They come in some amazing colors. Thats a beaut for sure.
tanktop74 they are easy to care for. Similar to acans i would say. Light and flow with occasional feeding and they thrive.
My fav favia is still the TEC joker favia. The color combo is incredible.
The TEC joker is a fast grower too... but where did the pic go for this thread??

I have never been able to get the little ones out of the display, so they become live food. Mine reproduce probably 3 or 4 times a year that I notice, maybe more who knows. Let me know how you catch the little guys & what you feed them to keep them going. Good luck with the little specks.
