ya is not definately a emerald crab not an anemone crab or a strawberry crab

I have a crab that looks like an emerald crab but is red. Someone told me emerald crabs can change colors due to what they eat. Is this true?

Is it new sand? when I put my sand a tank or put more in my tank that is low the sand always turns red coated with bubbles then it goes away in a month or so. ive had it happen in all my tanks. even the ones with the metal halide light and the t5. The other time it happens is when my tank has a temp. changes. light changes as well. its your tank way of adjusting. it should go away soon.. no worrys

So I have this emerald crab for about six months and I had him in a tank with two clown fish and two other emerald crabs. I came home about three days ago and found him on the bottom of my tank with no legs and just two claws upside down. My husband wanted to youthanise him, but I couldn't do that. Since he had no legs I had to take hime out of that tank. since it had a plenom bottom. I put him in another tank with a sandy bottom. He seems to be getting around ok without any legs, and I have seen him eating. but he cant really climb on rocks like the others. I have one fish in that tank a clown, and one emerald crab with him. should I be worried he might be eaten? And do they grow their legs back?

It is an anemone he is hosting in. I have had him for three years. I use the egg crate on the bottom of the tank to grow copepods for my mandrin dragenet and so if a rock falls it doesnt break the bottom of my tank. also its easier to clean. some of my other tanks I have sand

We just took down the tank tonight. I had it on a iron stand that was rusting.It had been on that stand for over 28 years. Someone gave me a nice stand for free, if I came andpicked it up. Its hard to find a five foot stand, let me tell you. I been working on that tank since nine am and now its twelve fifty am and I just finished. though. Good came out of this. I buffed out the scratches in my acylic tank. I need more rocks now though. Since the stand was giving I hadn'd been putting in rocks in fear everything might come crashing down. Oh and I got rid of my bad fishy that had been eating my pulsing xenias

WTB a five foot aquarium stand. my iron one is rusting

So I have a microscope and I know you can see parisites on fish. does any one know how i go about this. do I just look at the scales or do I need to dye them? I dont have any sick fishys, because I quarantine, but the fish store offered to support my learning expierence.

So at one point my reef tank use to be a fish only tank. My dad decided he loved damsels. now he has corals in it his one black giant dansel keeps eating all his corals.. he thinks xenias are lunch. Our tank is a 90 gallon closed top acylic tank. the fish is huge and we cant catch him. any suggestions? we arent willing to take out rocks.. but the fish has to go

they are doing great. my husband just loves them.
