  3. Yeah, where are the pictures?? I like pictures....
  4. I would be interested in the green polyp leather!
  5. Kris, I have a devil's hand and didn't know I could frag it this way. How do you attach the frag to something then?
  6. Rylie reminded much of my daughter....she is quiet for a bit of time, then she explodes with discussion! A great child you have there Kris.
  7. I meant sunday...typed saturday. I guess it is old age getting ahold of me! ha ha.
  8. I have tried to pull the xenia off of rocks and guess what...now I have tiny pulsing xenia on the rock where the flesh was left behind. Why can't my SPS grow like this stuff? ha ha!
  9. I honestly don't know what I'm looking for...not sure yet That is part of the fun...I can come and see what others have and feel like a kid in a candy store. Frank, I'll bring the orange Ric if I can make it on Saturday (I may have a conflicting schedule on saturday I just found out)!
  10. If you have anything to trade that would be great, but if not then come get them for free My Xenia is about ready to attach to the acrylic sides and I worry tha if it does I'll never get it off.
  11. I do have an orange ricordea (florida) to trade, and I just fragged some bright green Paly's and some orange center zoanthids...if anyone is interested...
  12. I have GSP and Xenia if anyone wants some. I am still growing out som of my other frags so it will be a while before I can trade. Actually, I do have a few Zoas that I could frag - I will try and get pictures tonight.
  13. I was thinking a pump for the closed loop pump...what brand and size would you suggest? I will probably go with a 250W MH hung over the tank.
  14. Chris, I thought that was an interesting story also...keep customers uneducated to sell more product. It seems Bass-ackwards to me. I appreciate our local stores for helping to educate us (me) and trust me, it keeps me coming back to them as I have success after success (knock on wood). Plan B was the right thing, but I would have tried to push a few BOOKS on him so he could read about the fish and LEARN about them out of a book -Mark
  15. I will be there. John, I will have some FW plants for you as well.....a number of American Val and a swordplant or two.
  16. I'm a bit late, but I hope you had a great Birthday Constance!
  17. Checked my tank just a bit ago and of course I saw a few fllatworms! I will nuke it again today. I hope the ones that are left are weak and will die off this time. If not I'll do it again tomorrow LisaJill - I did notice on my first dosing a tiny brittlestar that came out, which is certainly out of character for the daytime with these guys. Good luck!
  18. So I am thinking about a 60 gallon cube may be in my future (not sure how far away at this point). I am thinking a closed loop system for flow, and a refugium down below. I think a 250w MH would be good for a tank this size. What skimmer would you guys think would be best? What pump for flow would be best? Any suggestions on a refugium as well? I hope to start buying components soon so any suggestions would be welcome Thank you Mark
  19. I treated my tank again today with FWE and I must say, I nuked them this time! I went strong on my dosing and I now can't find a single living Flatworm! my process: - remove old carbon - get hob filter running (aquaclear 300). this will help suck out dead flatworms - will put carbon in this later as well. - dose heavily - watch them DIE! ha ha ha ha! - after about 10 minutes start siphoning the dead ones out..betweem me and the aquaclear and the overflow I got MANY of them out. - after about 1 hour put carbon in overflow and aquaclear. - do 40% water change LisaJill - I will probably dose again tomorrow to make sure I have no more left. All my corals are looking good. I did talk to Joel at Waves today and he suggested dosing back-to-back like that also. good luck Mark
  20. I am really leaning towards the sixline wrasse as he seems to be the smallest of the good FW eaters! I think I will try one more FWE treatment this weekend - just crank up the dosage this time. Lisajill, what carbon are you using? I was told that some of the cheaper 'freshwater' aquarium carbon can actually cause Phosphate issues....do you know if there is any truth to this? Thanks.
  21. 720 GPD? that is insane. My RO/DI unit is a 100gpd and it is more than sufficent. If it is truly 720GPD I would question the thought that it is truly RO unit. Does it state it is a RO unit?
  22. I think FWE is worth a shot. I MAY dose one more time and just crank up the dosage then do a 50-60% water change and run carbon in an external filter. It sounds like you have FWE, but if not you can borrow mine.
