  6. I have had a pair of breeding Bangai for a while now. It's a pretty cool process. Here is a link to a page with some pretty good info: http://www.reefs.org/library/talklog/k_clarke_102499.html Do the red scooter dragonets breed in captivity?
  7. I have had live rock with anemones from the Oregon coast with great success. With slow acclimation I had no troubles keeping the anemones alive for over a year and noticed no real difference in tank parameters.(popcorn)
  8. Welcome to the site and the hobby. Lots of good info here and from Jason (Sully). I wish I would have had him plumb my first reef tank. Would have saved myself from many small floods DOH!
  9. I'll sale you frags in Salem @ $5 an inch. Bring your wallet over!
  10. Are these the two that were at the meeting last month?
  11. I do know someone who kept one alive for over a year! Slow acclimation is always the key with cold water species. I had some anemones years ago from the Oregon coast that lasted a loooong time before I finally traded them off. (fish)
  12. Thanks for hosting the meeting Roger. It was great to see the Tanks for teachers program in action. Maybe we should talk more teachers into hosting in the future so we can see what there tanks need and where the donations are going. I will be more involved in the program now that I see our donations are going to a good cause. (clap)
  13. Not very many places here in Salem. Luckily the two we have are two of the best! Jason at Coral Reef pet center and Garrett both do a great job!
  14. Everyone bring lots of cash. I have alot of good stuff (naughty)
  15. Well maybe there is enough interest to have a swap meet still. Mr.S, are we paying for a place to set up a table. is it free. or donations? Are tables provided or do we need to bring some to sell are stuff on? I know more of you guys have good stuff lying around to sell
  16. I haven't seen it and I'll give $40.' I'm pretty confused by the measuremets 6' x 24" cylinder? 6 feet tall 2' diameter? 2' tall 6' diameter? Honestly it's really hard to give you any idea on price without a lot more info. Does it come with a stand, canopy, lights, skimmer, reactor, sump, etc? Condition is everything. A pic would really help. Many people on this site that would probably be interested. I would guess it could go anywhere from $200 - $2,000
  17. Finch is right. It is cyano bacteria. There can be a few different causes and it is never real easy to remove. Usually high nitrates or PH levels being off are the cause. Do some searches on Cyano bacteria and you will find a lot of results. There are a few products on the market designed to get rid of the "red algae" but most of us don't have very good success with them.
  18. Stsrting to look like I am the only one interested in selling at a swap meet. Maybe I should just put my stuff up in the classifieds. (scratch)
  19. When you have 350 gallons of water in your house and are trying to figure out how to fit more (scratch)
  20. This is another great one with alot of odd fittings and great customer service. http://pvcfittings.com/
  21. Guess who makes the news again! (scratch) http://www.kgw.com/news/Albany-business-owner-charged-with-sex-abuse-85954252.html
