This thread has convinced me to break down my 20g fresh and make it a zoa tank.

I had thought about it but read about their sweeper tentacles getting pretty long. Do they multiply quickly?

I thought I had it figured out by keeping the peaceful corals on the other side of the tank but, to my surprise, when I woke up this morning, an anemone had crossed the tank and moved in to a rock that I was going to put peacefuls on. How do I keep my peaceful coral separate from my semi-agressive coral?

Ok, I lied. They hide in their shell so well that I totall missed it. Both shells were next to each other as well the exoskeleton making me think a hostile takeover had occurred. That exoskeleton looks more like the hermit crab than I thought it would. To make sure I was right, I flipped over all the shells in the front of the tank and sure enough they all crawled away. So.... it was the exoskeleton, it's just more realistic than I thought it would be. Total noob post, lol. I would definitely be down for a few shells, though. Thanks for all the help.

My largest hermit crab has been spending a lot of time in his shell lately. This evening I looked at the tank to see about 4 legs and I think a claw sitting outside his shell. I thought he was dead but I just looked in there again and he has moved to the sand and is alive. There is a larger shell in there for him but he has not taken it. What just happened? (scratch)

I am really trying to cut down on tanks and have gone from 13 to 8. I would like to be under 5 by the end of the year but my fish aren't going to die anytime soon so it's time to see if anybody would like to give them a home. I really don't want to but a forum of fish enthusiasts seems like the best place to ask if I am going to get rid of them. In one tank I have 2 Yellow African Cichlids and in another I have 4 Kribensis Cichlids. If you are a Cichlid lover and want more I would love to give them to you. I just have too many tanks setup right now. They are all very healthy and are about 3 inches long.

You have a point there. Empty tanks are not too fun to stare at.

Ditto. I would take some of the livestock if you do decide to split it up.

My tank is finally starting to get brown algae and the new lighting comes tomorrow so what's there already is going to explode. I am needing some more snails and crabs, any suggestions other than the LFS's?

I was told it was 12k, I don't know that for a fact but it does have the purple glow of a 12k. Not sure what to ask so shoot me an offer. I was thinking $40 but if you think that is too much I will entertain anything else.

I have the rest of the pieces, just needing the box now.

If this would have been a week ago I would be all over it. I just bought a bunch of sand. Although, I suppose a couple more pounds couldn't hurt.
