There is a build thread where Rick made one and I think the bottom and sides extended past the back panel to form the overflow box. If you removed the back panel and cut it down I'm not sure you could "hang" a overflow box on the back with silicone. You could add a panel a few inches from the back to create an overflow box but that would cut down on the size of the tank

I have never heard of or experienced "crazing" from weldon in all the years I have used it ??

For the baffle in the sump you could get away with silicone, for any support or brackets you will need Weldon #16, you might find it at home depot with the acrylic or check tru value or another hardware store that sells acrylic

The Kent scrapers with the red plastic insert ore OK, just go easy on acrylic. I have a insert for it out of a material from Envision Acrylics that he used to give away when he had them, it fits into the handle of the Kent scraper

Are you talking about the algae on the viewing surfaces, I have had Coraline turn green on the back of my tank before and the turn back to pink. On the front and sides along with the green fuzz I have always had the little hard brown spots, the longer you wait the more they multiply and I do have to use a scraper to get it off, always had it.

12" is pretty common, most hoods are about that maybe a little higher

Returns you can do over the top, that link is the durso, pretty simple, as you can see in the picture the pipe size is larger than the bulkhead, like 3/4 to 1". you need a T, a 90 (forget what it's called, has a female on one end and male on the other) and a cap then just follow the picture. Look at the height and try a few different heights before you glue or don't glue at all

I would cut a piece of acrylic, put some teeth at the top and silicone it across the corner. You could just use a stand pipe with a durso and a filter but it will attract stuff and need to be cleaned often, would look nicer if you didn't see the drain pipe.

Just got back from Kona and something flipped it on to another Acro, had the plug glued down even! anyway doesn't look good I think its a goner
