  1. Update: One down... two to go... another town and one more show...
  2. OK, let's get these gone. Good beginner SPS. You guys must have friends that don't want to start with something that costs more than $10!!! $5, $7 and $8! Or... I'll take Montipora Digitata! I used to have some but now I don't. Whatcha Got?
  3. Anyone with a pair of radiums or XM 400 wt 20k or 14k want to come over for a couple of beers and a lighting comparision? Or do you think a LFS would sell/take back bulbs if they don't work or I don't like them? puntific
  4. I'm looking for a Aqua Jr w/ PH and temp probes. Anyone got a used one? puntific
  5. Yes, I can see that it was perfectly clear. uh... My mistake.
  6. Acros for trade. I'd love to get branching acros for these, but I would take small amounts of money too. I've got three unknown acros that are green with baby blue tips. From left to right in the pic: $8, $7, $10. The picture is a bit underexposed but my camera (skilz?) suck. At least is shows the color of the tips well. The one on the right is growing down too... that's why you see the blue at the bottom. puntific ps. First is just way too dark...
  7. Would you take a trade for the Bam Bams? I've got some pokerstar... and a bunch of other things... Neon Yellow Yuma frag... Purple tonga Mushroom Frag.... Fire and Ice Zoas... A green acro with baby blue polyps... puntific PS. Where are you located?
  8. Well, my reactor has two inlets at the top that have hoses into the middle of the reactor. Then there is also a third inlet that is just top center. I was assuming that this third inlet is actually the outlet. Now if I attach CO2 to one of the others and water from my sump into the last, will the movement of water in the tank cause a negitive pressure in the hose that will draw up water from my sump (where the effluent is going)? It's so crazy that it just might work... (but is that how it works?) puntific
  9. What's the best method for pumping water into the Knop C? I just got one used and I need to get water from my tank and into the darn thing though an air line and then back into my sump. Seems like I might feed it directly from my overflow water instead of using a pump. Would that work? Thanks, puntific
  10. So what all do you control with your controllers? Lights? (I use those silly vacation clock timers) Return pump? (mine's just ON) Calcium reactor? (again, just on) do you have it shut off if the pH in the tank goes below 8? If so, is it the pump of water into the Calc reactor that shuts off and CO2 keeps pumping into the reactor? Use as wave maker? What else? ah... heaters and chillers What probes do you buy? pH (seems a given) SG? temp seems like a good idea. I've just been doing most things in the most basic way and have just begun to think about a controller to help with eveything. Having it record data into my computer seems really cool too! puntific
  11. And if my ballasts are so old that they don't have a sticker? I got them in about 2002. puntific
  12. One thing I notice is that the challice that Frank is selling, the red with yellow eyes, looks purple with only slightly pale yellow eyes. It makes me think I need to improve my lights! puntific
  13. Be careful with this nate... the IRS isn't gonna like it unless it's a charity organization of some kind. puntific
  14. I guess I was wondering if I got anything by switching from Hamilton 20k 400s to Radium 20k 400s. I have PFO ballasts but I don't know if they are HQI or not. I got them from Upscales 8 years ago. puntific

    MH Bulb Site

Looking forward to hearing how the Par values come out. I've been running Hamiltons and, while I've been happy with them, I've wondered if I would do better with other bulbs. puntific
  16. I'm running a 100 gal tank that's 20 inches from water level to sand bed. The lights are 9 inches from the water. I've got a mixture of SPS, LPS, Zoas and Rics, as well as a RBTA and some other softies... I currently run 400 wt Hamiltons at 20k temp. They're kinda inexpensive bulbs. The question is: would running different bulbs be better for me? Could I switch bulbs without switching my ballast? Also, how do you know if your ballast is still good? Thanks, puntific
  17. Thanks. I used Paypal so that should speed things up. I might wait till tomorrow to actually start pestering someone...
  18. So.... It's been thrity seconds and my membership payment hasn't been processed. How long does it normally take? I'm guessing one of the boardmembers does it and it isn't an instant thing. I want into the private forums!!! (wife) puntific
  19. Does anyone ever slice a zoa or payly down the middle like a schroom? puntific
  20. Local temperatures over a brief period of time don't disprove a global warming claim... puntific
  21. Put me down for the Clam and the Duncans. No Eric! You can't have MORE!!! puntific
  22. I've got a bunch of frags I'd like to see go. PM sent. puntific
  23. I'm curious about how the light is getting to various parts of my tank and wanted to take some measurements. Would anyone have a light meter they would loan me? I understand Salt Water Fantasy has loaned one out in the past but their's has been out for 4 weeks and doesn't seem to be coming back. (If you read this and you have it... do the right thing and bring it back to them!) puntific ps. I'll be willing to leave you a deposit if you like, or a couple of zoas...
