  1. HAHAHA I knew you would see this thread sooner than later!!! Seriously though, My tanks are finally starting to look the way I want them to, still having a small algae outbreak but it is getting under control and the sps are growing like crazy! I'll shoot you a PM soon to come on over. Mike
  2. Thanks again Dan! I have shut off all my lights and just put him in the tank with a Achilles tang I have been qt'ing. Hopefully adding 2 fish at once will spread out any aggression from the already established pack. I'll get some pics up just as soon as Andy comes over to shoot them, lol. Mike
  3. Thanks! I think it will do great. I've been wanting one for a long time but I know how hard they are to get to eat. I know alot of people are having greater success with them now that the foods we feed are getting better. I have all my fish eating the Rods food now on a daily basis and love it. Mike
  4. I'll be picking it up tonight if it can be caught... if not I will wait until it falls for a trap and then pick it up. Thanks Dan! Mike
  5. Gotta quit messin with those wakeboards and focus on your tank lol. Mike
  6. What? cmon? You know that fish would look good in a 225g sps tank! Downhill might have bought it already....but he should let me buy it instead for messing up my coral order this last weekend, lol. JK biker. Mike
  7. I thought you were taking your tank down to move biker, lol. I am seriously interested in him for my sps tank, pm sent. Mike
  8. Hey travis, you gonna be around on thursday? I was thinking of bringing in some corals to trade. Mike
  9. did you get that at upscales? I picked up the crocea/maxima hybrid they had.
  10. They are coralvue dimable and they are about 6 months old now. The radiums are about 2 weeks old now.
  11. the best bang for buck pump on the market today. The run a little loud if they are mesh modded and out of balance, but quiet if done right. They pull a TON of air for such a small pump. They are the pumps used on the MSX skimmer line until you get into the high dollar askol pumps. I ran a msx 200 with one for a little while and loved it...the only reason I took it offline was that I combined the system with my reeflo orca 250 Mike
  12. Yes please Doran, if your available this Sat afternoon you can swing by and pick them up. Thanks
  13. donation Where can I donate for the TFT program? I don't generally go to the meetings, but I have a couple of items you guys might be able to use. I have a remora skimmer and a 150w halide fixture and ballast with a very slightly used ushio bulb + a brand new bulb. They are just sitting around my garage and I figure you guys can put them to good use. Mike
  14. If you are ever in vancouver you are welcome to stop by my house and see the difference between 250s run on electronic and 400s run on electronic with or without actinic supplement. All of my bulbs are in the large lumenbright reflectors. I cant say enough good things about the new reflectors and how well they get the par to the bottom. I could make you a killer deal on 400w ballasts and bulbs and downgrade to 250s, lol. Mike
  15. No, I don't think these are the ones patrick has... I think most of his are PFO ballasts. These don't monitor heat, they just have a dimmer knob that can adjust the power output from -15 to +15%, so you can underdrive or overdrive bulbs. I have found that the color can dramatically change with power output. The 400w radiums burn a real blue if used on normal electronic ballasts, but can be made more white with an increase in power...this is essentially what HQI ballast do, overdrive them. What size tank are they going to run on? I would have done my 24" tall tank completely different from the start if I had the chance. The reflectors these days like the lumenbright and lumenmax elite are so good and putting all the par towards the water, people can get away with 250w where they used to have to use 400's. I have my 400s about 28" from the water surface and still get about 400 par on the bottom! This is great because I get little heat transfer to the water, but it is a bit overkill. If I decide to change, I would use the 250s with electronic ballasts. I have a 250w radium running on a coralvue ballast on my 70 gallon frag tank and the colors are by far the best I have ever seen! The 250 radiums are probably the best bulb on the market, and they are made to run at 250w, not a weird wattage like the 400w radium only designed to run at 360 watts. The colors are just outstanding and I dont have to use actinic supplementation. HTH
  16. I run 400 watt radiums on coralvue dimmable ballasts with lumenbright reflectors and love the color. I like my tank pretty blue though, and I run 2 6' and 2 2' VHO actinic with the radiums. I am going to start playing around with my par meter, a kill-a-watt, and the dimmer switch on the ballast to tweak them....if I ever get some free time, lol.
  17. Your not headed north anytime soon are you? I would take it but eugene is a little far for a single coral :(
  18. depends on the size, glass for small....acrylic for big....
  19. 2 gallons each of calcium, alk, both magnesiums, gfo, and carbon.
  20. you wont be disappointed, I have shopped with them many times and shipping has always been fast, usually ships out the day after I order. edit...just got shipping confirmation by email!
  21. Thanks for organizing this Bob, just placed my order and got over $50 off, so basically free shipping on ALOT of heavy items. Mike
  22. did we end up with the needed amount of people bob?
  23. I have recently switched to radium bulbs and I love the color, so I wont be switching back anytime soon, so I have some used bulbs for sale. I have one of the new reeflux 20K that I ran for about 1-2 weeks to let it burn in to see if I liked the color. Nice white bulb with a little blue pop...just not enough blue for me(laugh) I run radiums on electronic ballasts with VHO actinic(super blue!) $50 I also have 3 12K reeflux that have been running for 6 hours daily for about 5 months. Most people online state they get at least a year, if not 18 months out of these before needing to be switched out. $75 for all 3 Mike
