I plan to be mostly SPS dominate with Zoa in lower light areas and a clam or two in the sand bed.
Currently figuring out how to handle the 5 channel lighting system has been the most difficult. Worried about getting the spectrum right to not burn corals. Only ever had the industrial style SE metal halides.
Plan to get a membership as soon as possible. Hoping to attend the march meeting.

Could a mod help me with editing the top post? I need to reload the pictures, but couldn't find the edit option...
Now onto pictures since no one likes these threads without them!
Currently the tank just has sand, hopefully picking up rock from matt125 this weekend.
It is a very tight fit in the sand, but I am able to get to everything. Still mocking up the Calcium reactor, but the CO2 tank will be behind the stand in the corner.
Mounted the controllers on the side, and still have yet to do cord clean up inside or outside the stand. Also still need to frost the glass on the front of the stand.
My lighting graph just for fun.
That's all for now. I'll put more up once I add rock.
Also any advice is appreciated.

Well, I have been out of the hobby for almost exactly 10 years. Before that I worked at fish stores, and built systems for people. After a trip to Honolulu, I just had to build a new tank. For the last month I have been slowly piecing together all of the components I wanted to use, and getting everything built. It has taken a bit longer than I planned, but trying to fit everything in that stand was no small feat.
Tank:
34g Solana with stand (Thank you, Vis)
Equipment:
Nanobox Duo M
- I love this light, the owner Dave is great to work with.
Reefkeeper Lite Plus
- Been a bit difficult to program. Wish I would have gone with APEX.
Eshopps RS-75 sump
- Fits but considering their new cube sump design.
Eshopps S-120 skimmer
- This thing is great for such a small skimmer
Ecotech Vortec mp10wqd
- I am amazed at how far technology has come with wave-makers
Aquamaxx S-Nano Calcium Reactor
- Could have gone with dosing, but I'm used to reactors, and dosing seems foreign to me.
Sicce 1.5 return pump
- Currently using a mag drive, but its way to loud. Once the new pump arrives I'll be returning it.

Thanks, I'll give them a call.

Oops, SW Portland.

I forgot to buy loc-line for my return line, and don't want to deal with online companies.
Does anyone know where to find it locally? just need 3/4" thread, a few sockets and a spray nozzle. Used to have piles of it, but think it got thrown out years ago.
Thanks,
JR

It came with the tank I bought from Vis, but I'm not going to end up using it. It is in great shape, no chips or stressed acrylic.
PM with your phone number, and I'll email you pictures.
Looks like they retail for around $110. Asking $50 obo.
Thanks,
JR

Can't wait for the rock. Have a lot to get ready.

It was Renzema, back on the TFT.com. This was before pnwmas had its own site.

Thanks everyone.
I'll have to start putting a build thread together. I want to go high tech this time. When I was last in the hobby. The controllers where so basic, and wave making was just mechanical.
I just also ordered the Reef Keeper lite plus controller. I'm just hoping it will be enough for what I have planned.

I would be interested in this order. looking to only use live rock for a 30g cube. So 30-45lbs depending on how dense.
That is if its not to late.
Thanks,
JR

I used to be a very active member in PNWMAS about 8-10 years ago. Had to give up the hobby about when PNWMAS.org was first set up.
Finally I am back.
Yesterday I purchased the Solana cube from Vis, and have a nanobox duo led, octopus skimmer, vortex PH, and building a custom auto top off. Can't wait to start being involved in the hobby again, but wow have things changed. All of this new technology is pretty overwhelming. I mean I always used those massive industrial looking MH, now I can turn my light on with an app. Have A LOT to learn again.
Thanks,
JR

Sent you a PM a few days ago.

PM'ed give me a call tonight or tomorrow. Can come tomorrow.

any reasonable offer...
-
need to sell as a package, don't want to be stuck with random stuff. $150 you can have it all and sell the stand for my guess $50.
-
bump for lower price

Oh good old in living color. Should I put it in a sock?

I think this post on his page more or less explains his opinion on the matter. He posts his opinion on madmike buying a dying/stressed fish.

Oh and still to date never heard from him and he has been posting on here.
I have since purchased another regulator from a local and it works perfectly. Guess there is always a bad apple in a bunch.

PM sent!!!

Bump for obo?

He came online and posted a few posts. So I know he was on here for a decent amount of time.
Also have his phone number, which I have tried to reach him on.
No need for a flame fest, just a warning to the next buyer to be careful. I am sure he is a decent guy because up until this point he was very nice. I think its that he no longer has any tanks so he just give a [language filter] about keeping a good reputation.
A few of these posts were after I contacted him on via phone and he has logged on 3 times since sending him PM's.

love that comment and so so true.

At this point I don't plan to get my money back but just wanted to at least warn the next person who deals with him to make sure to check all the items because he isn't a man of his word.
Junior's 34g cube build. Advice welcome.

I went over board with a lot of the equipment, because I know within a few years I will want a 60 cube. I don't want to have to go through selling, and buying all new equipment. The Nanobox is definitely overkill currently, but will have that punch to keep clams alive on the sand bed with a deeper tank.
I was against metal halides this time because of the heat/power issues. I remember the summertime battles with them. Would rather heat the tank in the winter than have fans/chillers in the summer.
