  3. thats awesome nyles! I really want something to keep my sandbed stirred up and clean. I really hate when a tank has beautiful corals and rockwork and the sandbed looks like poo. There is another brand of sand called playwright that is sold thru lowes and is aragonite like southdown. Anyone ever looked into this type or used it before?

  10. If you had a shop big enough to set it up in and if it was in decent shape it would be one hell of a draw to customers!!!! Imagine putting that right up against a storefront and stocking it with acouple huindred assorted tangs! lol I would definately be going into that shop! haha

  12. most of the state is beaver fans?? you must be referring to the state of idaho!
  13. LOL....I almost forgot ponds.....And with the wealthy clientele (sp?) that is moving into bend especially the awbrey butte area, most of them have ponds. And most of the people in bend either have a pond, want a pond, have a reef tank, or would love to but dont want to care for em. After all, it would cut into thier golf time!! so a maintenance end of the business could be VERY lucrative in the long run as well!!
  14. good to know reefboy! I have contacted sean (cichlids and salt) as i am in springfield and eugene almost weekly and would rather not apay a seperate shipping charge. I have seen the DIY on reefcentral and it looks simple enough (especially since i worked in the masonry trade for a year and a half) The only thing about it that concerns me is the mess involved. My wife is not a huge DIY fan...lol and if i tell her im going to dry rocks in her oven i may get it!
  15. I figure i am going to need around 60-70 lbs of rock for my 40 stretch hex and cant really afford that much LR. anyone know of a store in the valley that sells base rock?
  16. 40 gallon stretch hex. never plumbed a tank before so any help with ideas about where to put returns and how many to use, what size pump, etc, etc would be GREATLY appreciated!
  17. if i get the 45mm holesaw it will go with a 1" bulkhead. Is this big enough for my overflow and returns?
  18. have fun camping....it will be a beautiful weekend on this side of mountains !! low to mid 80's all weekend....i may be up there jetski-ing on sunday!(clap)
  19. I like the 1" heavy duty bulkheads but doesnt show me a hole size.....plus couldnt you use sone glue or silicone or such to keep them from loosening up on you?
  20. what size bit do i need to drill my tank for overflows and returns? isthere a standard size? I see the 1/2" bits on ebay but none larger......all input appreciated!!
  21. wedding veil is also know as "TOULLE" pronounced like "tool". I only know this cuz i got married a while back and heard the word a million gajillion times. LOL and it does work great on cleaning glass! :p
  22. forgot to add that I work for terminix so i go into literally hundreds of homes monthly so the amount of marine tanks as well as reptiles i see are astounding to me. Both of these seem to be neglected hobbies in the area. And if you do decide to open a store the winter is my slow season so i will have lots of spare time to help u get set up and i work for free!! lol
