I was so surprised how much DC skimmer pump cost when similar rated DC regular pump is at least half that. So, I decided to make my how conversion kit. Took me a week to order the right tools and made multiple version of impeller 3D models. I have successful made a conversion kit for Jebao DC-6000 pump (40 watt).
The conversion kit includes my version of the needle wheel impeller, impeller spacer, and pump intake air venturi. Check out my video, white parts are the conversion kit.
I'm thinking about selling this conversion kit. If more interest, I will make for other pump models.

Thanks for all that have replied. I forgot to ask what other fishes you have currently in your setup. I want to make sure they are compatiable.
-
I currently have a 180gal reef and had most of the fishes for over 6 years, but recently work will require me to travel for extensive period of time. It saddens me but I want find a good homes for my fishes, inverts, and corals. If you interested in adding any or all of these: 2 Blue Tangs (5+ inches), 2 Lyretail Anthias (4" 1 male, 1 female), a pair of black pecular clowns, 2 Yellow Tangs (3 inches), 1 Yellow tail Damselfish, 7 Atlantic sea cucumbers, 3 pencil Urchins, Leather corals, and live rocks, let me know what's your setup.
If you're interested in getting any or all of the above, please do the following, first email me a description of your setup: (How big? How long have you had them? How often do you feed your fishes? What do you maintain the water parameters?). Please attach a picture of your tank if possible. Then we'll need to arrange when you can pick them up from me. I live in Hillsboro.
Thanks,
Daniel

In case anyone is interested...
Just treat my tank tonight. No ill effect on anything but the red flatworms. Pods, snails, fish, corals, anemones, brittle worms, etc. all didn't show any signs of stress. Couldn't find the same brand/form of levasole as described from reefcentral. Ended up just added a little at a time till red flatworms started to died off. I only kept the skimmer off for about an hour and now the skimmates have a red hue.
-
Have anyone try using Levasole pig dewormer (Levamisole Hydrochloride) to treat red flat worms? Seems like people at reefcentral have great success and it's cheaper than Flatworm Exit. If you have tried it, please let me know where you got yours or if you have some left overs?

Anyone in the Portland area harvesting cheato that's willing to give me some?
Thanks,
Daniel

I also would like to get some cheato. I'm in the Portland area. Thanks...

My chateo started to turn pale and died off about a few weeks ago. Corals seems to be fine.

I think they are false percula clowns and I had them for about 5 years. Anyone near Hillsboro have some cultured phytoplankton and rotifer that can help me start?
-
I'm so happy my clowns lay their first batch of eggs. How many days will it take for the eggs to hatch? What's the easiest way to rear the babies?
Here's a pic of the eggs... hard to get a good photo:

If in a fish only tank with very little rock works, then I would say at least 55gal (4ft long).
-
Yes, still around.

Few months back I purchased 3 yellow tangs for my 180gal tank, but one of them got beaten up by the other two. He's been in my 60+gal sump for months and have completed recovered. He's very fat and eats flakes, pellets, and previously frozen uncooked broccoli. It seems my dream of 500+ gal tank is not happening any time soon, I need to find him a good home. I purchased them for $26/ea and I'm asking for $20 for him. I think he's about 3" if not a little over. I live in Hillsboro, please PM me to arrange pickup.

I've ordered a diamond drill bit for glass on ebay and drilled my 25gal glass tank. That was my first time and it was much easier than I thought. It wasn't a perfect drill but good enough. My order of another 1" bulkhead just came in today. I'm planning to drill a 2nd hole in my 25gal tank after work today. If you like, bring you 10gal tank over and you can use my drill bit. PM me.

If he will pick at the clam you put, try this... Put a cube of frozen mysis shrimp in the empty steamer clam shell. Once he get use to eating from there, then you can try hand feeding him. Mine will eat almost anything now, but I still have to hand feed him. If I just dump food in my tank, his too slow to compete with my 3 blue tangs and 5 lyrtail athenis.
