1. BB is the only way to go...IMO:D 2.does your tank have a center brace? i have a tank with the same dimensions with center brace... i have 2 400watters and 2 110 watt vho up above ...there are spots in the middle and on the ends of the tank wear the light is not as brite. the bottom of the 400 watt bulbs are about 8"inch above the water..some people go about 10 inches.. i wish i could run three MH but cant because of the center brace..IMO two MH are great above a four foot tank...but on five or more feet, you need three MH... 3. it shouldnt matter mounting the pump like u want to . the motor shaft is already parallel to the ground. the motor shaft with the output parallel to the ground is still gonna also be parallel to the ground ...no difference... the only thing is that u will have is one more elbow to slow the flow a little....youll have plenty of extra ump left...

the fish tank gets a chiller after i get new ac's, in my house....besides if u dont have a AC in your house and got a chiller first...your house would get even hotter as a byproduct....doesnt sound like fun to me....of course if your tank was big enough, u could wade in it:D (rock2) .

siskiou, ive been doing this for years and never had a loss from these temp swings. ..i thnk the real danger is the high temps..ive seen my a couple sps look "iffy" from the heat, like their flesh was gonna RTN. but have never seen it look "iffy" from the temp swings..i think the coral rather deal with the temp swings than gettin cooked alive in your tank..

id try unpluggin the heater if u havent done that yet,reduce amt of time lites are on,and also put a fan on the water surface and run it all nite ..its kind of like opening the windows at nite so u start out the next day with a cool house....this would give you a "buffer" to work with...the nites like tonite ill leave the fan on and the tank will dip down to 72f .that will give u an 8-10 degree buffer...before the poop hits the fan...hth good luck

yeah , what mike said..... also it was my first time there at the store.. its was nice , spacious,had good prices, and had a clean look to it..gonna have to put it on the "makin the rounds" list.thanks for having us there Pat if u read this...oh and the appetizers and pop hit he spot.. . hey reefgeek, better get the day off for next months Barbecue and the bad A$S raffle prizes...i cant wait....i can see it know. (fingers) ...gonna have to put my new tank im gonna win in the backyard and put a greenhouse over it...lol:D
