  1. for those pm'ing me yes i have a few available and here is a bad cell pic but you get the point. They are $40 or consider trade for nice acros or montis. no softies or lps.
  2. I have a tank full of my roses in Newberg I could get you one. I've had this strain of rbta's for 5 years now. PM me and I can try and work something out with you.
  3. looks like i'm getting back into the obsession. watch out
  4. Custom made sump plumbed with a 2" bulkhead fits perfect for a reeflo dart or can be used with any external pump or blocked off. Also included is the kent float valve for auto top off. Also a filter sock holder and 3 baffles. Sump was made by a local acrylic builder to my specs. It has no problems and is in very good condition. $150. Shawn 971-570-7536
  5. Water Tank Sold reef165 I currently don't have a tank setup but will eventually do it again. I had to shut down the 300gal inwall early this year. In 2008 the tank was absolutely stunning but I just ran out of time for it and had to shut it down. I can't find any pictures but here it was in Oct of 07 so you can imagine what it looked like in 2008.
  6. I don't know the dimensions of the sump yet. I'll get them when I get some time. It's large for a 100-200gal tank. It's plumbed with a 2" bulkhead. If someone is interested I may just sell it out right.
  7. Looking for a nice small tank around the 20g - 45g range. Doesn't have to be drilled. Let me know what you got either cash or trade. The only thing I have for trade right now is a custom sump. not sure on the dimensions. barely used. pic is when it was brand new and is in like new condition. Shawn - 971-570-7536
  8. I haven't heard from people that were interested. The tank is approx. 4ft wide. $125 takes it all
  9. I have a 305 gal water tank that has only ever had RO/DI water in it. I plumbed it with level gauge and recirc option for mixing saltwater too. Also has kent float valve installed. I don't need it anymore and never used it. Make me an offer. I also have a brand new white 55 gal drum as well if interested. You can kinda see it in the pic. Shawn - 971-570-7536
  10. I guess we'll make a Sam Adams clone. Thanks Sam
  11. I just throw them away. you're welcome to take them. It's usually like 11 pounds grain per 5 gal batch.
  12. I will say this from some experience testing phosphate levels using a REAL Hanna phosphate meter not some waste of money test kit... People way under estimate phosphates they have. Here is a simple breakdown of some things I've learned. - Don't leave your filter socks in more than a few days - RUN YOUR CA REACTOR EFFLUENT THROUGH PHOSPHATE MEDIA. High in phosphates.... test your effluent people....I don't care what people say the negative effects of this are.... - Do your water changes with zero tds water - run phosphate removing media all the time - USE FRESH FILTERS AND MAKE SURE YOUR WATER IS ZERO TDS. - You don't need a fuge to have zero phosphates. Don't get me wrong I have nothing against a good fuge but you don't need one to rid phosphates I have an very nice colorimeter or what ever you want to call it that measures phosphates. If you want a real idea of how much phosphate your water has bring me a sample I'll test it for you.
  13. Great! It will be on a Sunday around noon for sure then. I will get some dates up shortly.
  14. I'm not going to set this up for this weekend. I'll post a few weekend dates so people have some time to plan it out. Extract is just a concentrated form of grain sugar to make it simple....Not many choices on different flavors and it leaves the beer with a sweet kind of twang to it.... With All Grain you don't use the extract syrup.... You "extract" your own sugars from grain only. Usually around 10 pounds of grain for 5 gallons. It is much cleaner and a lot cheaper too... Think of it like this....You make some lemonade with frozen concentrate. Just add water and go and it turns out good. But making lemonade from pure lemons yourself is that much better and you have much more control of what the outcome taste will be. Takes a little longer and requires a little more equipment but it's worth it
  15. mine is a Longnose Hawkfish not Red sorry about that...
  16. you're good.... throw on an airlock and bottle a few days after the bubbly stops. It will taste ohhh so good... The mirror pond clones always come out really good even if you messed up a little....good first choice.
  17. there are many ways to do this and each person has there way just like the fish hobby but I found no real gains by transferring to a secondary (unless brewing a fruit beer) I would say wait till fermenting stops that is key if you are bottling for sure (bottle bombs)..... Usually 2 weeks is perfect. To make this as simple as possible...... Just wait 2 weeks and make sure the bubbling has stopped sometimes it can take the yeast a week before it even starts....Is your batch releasing CO2 yet? If so wait till that stops then bottle or keg. Let it condition in the bottle or keg for 4 weeks that is the key. 2 weeks to ferment and 4 weeks to condition..... That is what works for me the best. Not to say you can't try it sooner but it always tastes better at 4 weeks usually.
  18. You do all grain or extract for your first try? Sample 4-5 weeks after fermentation is complete not 4 weeks from your start date. IME 5-6 weeks and the beer is perfect. At 4 weeks it is still a little green tasting. We'll be doing all grain so come on by..... I have extra equipment to brew an additional batch of extract if someone wants to do there own.... I can smell the grain now.... It's glorious!
  19. I am still working on trying to get the purple stuff off but you can at least see in the tank now. So far so good. Couple urchins ruined the front pane but I'll try and buff it out.
  20. It's needs to be on a Saturday or Sunday. I'll probably start around noon and people can show up anytime from noon to about 4 to see the process. I think the start is the most interesting and fun to watch and after that is just cooking which is beer drinking time. I'll throw out some weekend dates and people can respond if that will work for them. If we have some homebrewers on here like "JeffP" bring over your stuff and we'll do multiple batches. I have a kegerator that can hold and carb 25 gallons of beer.
  21. I know I crap in the woods that's all I can say... Order a kit of hef from Austin Homebrew and get it crushed cause I don't have a good mill..... Then we'll brew it and I'll carb it for you to take home in 4-6 weeks... just leave me a little....
  22. My tank sucks right now... so I need some beer.... who wants to make some homebrew???? I'm ready for another batch. I got nothing on tap but applewine and that's not right.... That Arogant Bastard we all made was gone quick it was great.... What do we want to make this time? chewie, mike, ryan you out there???
  23. My hawkfish has grown bigger than my blue tang.... seriously i cleaned the front of the tank in 18 months and I was shocked...this thing is like the loc ness monster... I could probably feed him a T-Bone Steak... I didn't realize they get this big but he's awesome and the only fish that likes me.... I think he ate snails for 18 months or redbugs/flatworms.
  24. I bought this chiller used and never used it. It is labeled as a 1/2hp chiller but in no way is it the 1/2hp chiller I'm used too. I would say this would probably cool up to 100gal tank. The size and specs of it are equivalent to that. They do not sell this chiller in the states anymore. $100 and it's yours. Will trade for SPS or Equipment. Let me know what you got. SPECS CLICK HERE
