  1. Brewing this saturday June 21st. This time we're making an All Grain Raspberry Wheat just in time for August and those hot days.

The Arrogant Bastard Clone is done from our last brew day and on tap. It is fantastic. It gave me a wicked hangover. (drooler) Those that made it and want to try it come on by.

Anyone that brews there own beer and wants to bring over there gear and brew a batch come on over.

  2. How often does that thing split?? If there are some left by the time I can come up Im interested :)

I have had this anemone for 3-4 years.... It only grows to about 5-7 inches and then splits. I keep about 3 of them and they split about once every 2-3 months. I had 8 of them in my tank and now have about 5-6 of them. I am keeping 3 of them because that is how I get so many splits. Ryan you got my info just PM me when you're around clackamas and I'll let let you know if I have any.

I am way closer to Clackamas than Boring. About 10 minutes off 205.

  3. I've got a baby rbta about 2-3 inches that split from my roses. It is aquacultured for years in captivity and doesn't get very big before it splits. Not wild. I am in the clackamas damascus area if you're interested give me a call at 971-570-7536. I won't have it for long. If you want to come by today and pick it up it's yours. Willing to trade for lawnmower blenny or maybe a foxface.

    Selling for $40

  4. Get a phosphate testing meter and test the phosphates coming out of your reactor. You'll be pretty surprised. I didn't make up the technique but you just run your effluent over some media and it helps. I just glued a cheap plastic box thingy to my sump and ran the effluent through it with some phosphate media in it. Go check out reefhut's sump he preplanned it so his design looks trick.

I'm pretty sure corals "uptake" some phosphates to live so it would make sense that there skeletons have phosphate in them. Plus the media is rinsed before you get it.... Rinsed with water that probably has phosphate in it.

  5. tank is a 290 gal and sump is 4 feet by 2 feet with 7 inch water level.

The skimmer is good for the price. You need to do a couple little mods to it but nothing out of the ordinary. You must have at least 7 inches of water in your sump to run the skimmer correctly. 8-10 inches would be best. No sump water level changes. I haven't really messed with it since I bought it but I would say it's a good deal on a skimmer that size. It takes about 3 weeks to break in.

  6. I bought this and added a liquid level gauge, kent float valve with connections, plumbing for a recirc pump and a 1/4" drain on the bottom for filling sumps or whatever.

I had intentions of using it for a frag tank and water storage / water changes, etc.... but never used it.

Here is a picture of what it looks like but it is solid black not green. This is a pic I found on the net of a stock one.

  7. We all had a great time. I'll post some pictures when I get home tonight. The combo of sun/beer/reef tanks was just heavenly. The A.B. Clone we brewed turned out really good. We hit our efficiency at 75% which is great especially since we were drinking through the whole process. Our original gravity on this batch came out to 1.070 which means it's going to be VERY GOOD. The beer will turn out FANTASTIC.

We had such a blast that I'm going to do it again probably in 6-8 weeks. That way we can drink the A.B. Clone we just brewed. Thanks to everyone that came :)
