  1. Any reason not to use poker chips as frag disks? I'm thinking the cheap plastic ones would be safe to use. The heavier clay chips would be nice but I'm not sure if they would leech anything into the water.
  2. How much will entry be for children and what age is considered a child? (how much for a 3 yr old
  3. Another idea. How about having a map of the northwest out where people can place pins that show where they live. You could use colored pins to signify how much water they have under their care. If people see how many "local" reefers live nearby they might be more inclined to join. Plus this gives people a reason to come to the booth without having to give them a "free" item. (save us some money)
  4. What is the PNWMAS booth going to consist of? A business card w/ the club info would be good to hand out. I'm thinking we should borrow a 32"+ flat screen to run a cool powerpoint presentation showing all the members and their tanks. We also need a hot booth babe.
  5. Impressive. Nice distance. lol
  6. The Dart is a great pump if you don't have a bunch of head pressure.
  7. Will there be any booth babes? That may help change my mind. lol
  8. Reef keeping is a family hobby for us so it will cost us $45 to goto the event. I would love to go but can't justify the cost at this point. BREAKING NEWS!! I am now accepting sponsors so we can goto the event. (clap)
  9. I'm not sure I understand. We have to pay $15 for the opportunity to purchase coral now?
  10. I picked up 100 of the plastic frag plugs from directly from coralcradle.com which cost me $25. I checked the website and cannot find the link so they might not sell them directly to the customer anymore.
  11. Make sure you get a DC8 so you can control your lights and pumps.
  12. I want a small unit with no timer. I will be controlling it via my neptune controller.
  13. I am in no big hurry. I think I can use an aqualifter in the mean time. Shoot me a PM with the info.
  14. I'm looking for a dosing pump like the Aqua Medic SP 3000 Dosing Pump. http://www.marinedepot.com/aquarium_dosing_pumps_top_off_aqua_medic_SP_3000_sp3000_niveaumat_reef_doser.asp?CartId= http://www.saltycritter.com/dosingpumps.htm
  15. I love my neptune ACIII.
  16. I love the clown/rhino pic. lol
  17. I don't have any babies yet so I haven't cranked up my cultures but I will be glad to start them up early if I can help. I have a couple tanks ready for babies if needed.
  18. Is there a limit on how many people we can bring? I have some family and friends that would like to go. Is the cost for members and non-members the same?
  19. Congratulations! Thats exciting news!
  20. I picked up a boron test from waves which gave me the readings. All my other levels were perfect but my corals were getting fried by something. It was a sad sight. I switched back to IO and all is doing great. I do have to add magnesium since the IO levels are too low. Here is the thread on RC http://www.reefcentral.com/forums/showthread.php?s=&threadid=927803&perpage=25&pagenumber=1
  21. For what its worth I stopped using oceanpure after my boron levels went through the roof. I ended up losing about 1/2 my tank. The death stopped the same day I switched salt. There was a guy on RC that had the same problem I did. I'm guessing it was a bad batch of salt since alot of people use it.
  22. Mine is very very very active. He just can't stop swimming and picking at the rocks. He does stay near the turbulent flow and I have seen him several times trying to swim up the sump return output which is running about 2500 gph. I would make sure you have a big tank with plenty of rock for him to pick at. So far he has been pretty passive with the rest of my fish. He isn't scared of them and will stand his ground when he is challenged. They can really bring a lot of life (movement) to a tank.
  23. I had a nice little photo shoot out with the clown tank last night. It took me over 100 shots to get about 30 good ones. Here is a little slideshow of the ones I liked. http://s7.photobucket.com/albums/y257/littleichiban/ClownBreeding/clownshoot_jan07/?action=view&current=1169757814.pbw The female has grown quite large but she still will not let the male get close to the anemone. She likes to chase him around and he will submit to her every time. I'm hoping she will come to her senses and let him host. I want to see some eggs soon!!
  24. That is the powder brown tang in the middle. The tank is a 330g 70 x 36 x 30 (L x W x H)
