  1. And in the news tonight... "Police are searching today for a man who was wearing glasses and an orange vest while he robbed a Oregon City bank Tuesday morning. The robbery took place at about 9:15 a.m. at the Bank of America in the Woodside Plaza Shopping Center on Woodside Road, according to police. The suspect passed a note to a teller and didn't display a weapon, police reported. Police did not reveal how much money was stolen. The suspect is described as a clean-shaven man in his 30s or 40s, about 5 feet 7 inches to 5 feet 10 inches tall, with a mustache and thin "line" beard. No getaway vehicle was seen, according to police."
  2. The picture aren't bad, the color is good. One easy thing you can do to improve, is to aim your camera perpendicular to the glass. You'll lose some of that blurriness that is due to refraction.
  3. Is this the "what to drink when it's HOT HOT HOT!!!" beer thread? I might suggest Full Sail Brewery's Session Premium Lager. I've been enjoying this alot lately.
  4. Happy Birthday! I hope you got a cube, or another nano, or whatever you've been planning.
  5. I bought an orange paddle sponge a year and a half ago, but it wasted away and was completely gone within a couple of months. I suspect it starved. I do have several different hitchhiker sponges; the little white pineapple sponges, some sort of small ball sponge, an orange encrusting sponge, and several convoluted green sponges. I don't do anything special for them, they're just growing on their own.
  6. We were at Dosewallops State Park near Brinnon, WA.
  7. Here's something unusual that we've eaten in the past... It's a moon snail. The foot tastes alot like razor clam or geoduck, but it's pretty tough. We weren't allowed to take any this year- apparently you can't take them in state parks. The warden politely asked me to return them.
  8. Yeah, me and my family dug all of the clams- It's pretty simple, just need a garden rake to move around the sand and gravel at low tide. We cheated on the shrimp. The state opened the shrimp season an extra day so we bought some live from a local shrimper.
  9. The shrimp were the best. I've never eaten such fresh and tasty shrimp, they were better roasted over the fire than when we boiled/steamed them. The limit on the clams were forty per person per day. Those clams were my family and my brother's family combined. The crab was a male, but too small to keep. We also shucked and ate fresh oysters too.
  10. I thought I'd share some photos from my weekend (a couple ago) camping with my kids. These were taken from Dosewallops (Hood Canal). First the clams... The crab... And some shrimp... Is it wrong that I enjoy eating the same critters that I struggle to keep in my aquarium?
  11. Apparently, alot of us are using AVG. Me too.
  12. That's horrible- I'm sorry. That make my set-backs look tiny by comparison, I can only imagine how frustrated you must feel.
  13. Is there going to be a July POTM?
  14. You are describing a Corallimorpharian, Pseudocorynactis sp., also known as a ball corallimorph. I wouldn't worry about them. I fed one in my sandbed for awhile (until I got bored with it).
  15. I've always had the digitate hydroids in my aquarium- and had never had a problem with them. I'm sure others will disagree, but that's my opinion.
  16. I love your coldwater pictures- were you going to add a small Puget Sound King Crab to it? I might be remembering that wrong.
  17. I'm also sorry to hear that Austin- my prayers go to you and your family.
  18. Interesting, Sept and Nov '06 look remarkedly similar. I like the aquascaping in March better than before you crash.

Please pardon the extra post to this thread- I'm playing with Flickr and wanted to see how it behaves when I post a photo. I set the privacy setting differently on the two photos- Can you see both?
  20. Congrats- that's a great milestone. And don't be so hard on your photos, those are some nice ones you've posted. I'd love to see more.
