  1. I'll have to check that out! I suppose I should learn how to swim since I am in my mid-thirties now. Oh, but Jay was putting the pressure on me. He said I only have six years to learn how to dive. Why, you ask? Because the end of the world is coming in 2012. DOH! Silly Mayan prophecy anyhow! Course, who's going to be eating crow if it actually happens! waving Stacy PS... I don't think he actually believes it. Just in case anyone is thinking that Jay is a closet conspiracy theorist or something like that! :p
  2. Man, I couldn't hardly get a word in edgewise. Jay was hogging the keyboard! One of these days we're going to have to get one of the junker computers lying around up and running so we can both chat at the same time! Stacy
  3. That's what I'm here for! Comic relief! naner Stacy

    Pics of my 300

Man, your aquascaping is so whack that the reef police are gonna come over and bring you up on charges! (Rim) I know, feeble attempt at a joke. I do think your aquascaping is great! Anything that isn't a rock wall is brilliant in my book! (highfive) Keep us posted on the elegance! I really do have high hopes that it will do great in your tank. (fingers) Stacy
  5. I'll do that. I probably should learn how to swim better anyhow. Plus it would have the added benefit of being... exercise. After all, it only gets harder to shed the extra table muscle as we age. :p Stacy

    Sweet!!!!

Somebody is spoiled! Keep us posted on the elegance! And I don't know... a Mac? (hitme) Stacy
  7. rofl Just wanted to try to keep my foot out of my mouth for once! Stacy
  8. (drooler) DSLR... man, I hope you get it! One of these days I'm going to move up from my intermediate model (Sony DSC H1) and get one of those bad boys! Congrats on the upcoming nuptials! I take it she wouldn't let you have the registry at one of the LFS? Stacy
  9. You've found a great resource! I don't know how Jay and I would have fared in the hobby if I didn't find PNWMAS and all the other reef boards out there! So stick around and don't be afraid to post when you have questions. Someone might know the answers! BTW, I started out fresh, too. Discus, cichlids. Jay never showed one iota of interest. Then I started researching salt... ran across a great deal from someone selling their system and BAM! Jay is now hopelessly addicted! I had to start up a 20L for myself because he's rather possessive of the big tank! (wife) Stacy
  10. Okay... learn how to swim and get into better shape. Gotcha! I do have some water issues, and from what you said about taking the mask off and clearing it I need to work past them before I can even begin to entertain the thought of diving. :o Stacy
  11. Not negative or depressing at all. Fret not, little buddy! You answered my questions. I think the whole question came to light with me when Jay showed me the "Reef Monkey's" off topic forum. Holy cow!!! They are a bunch of naughty little puppies over there! rofl Not that I personally have a problem with people cutting loose. I can't win with this thread... I'm either going to come across as a freak or a prude! So I'm just going to have fun, try not to offend anyone. Sorry kids, no direct links to the "Naughty Hedgehogs" on RatherGood! Which is the other reason why I brought the subject up. One of the funniest things I've seen, but I'm sure it would offend some people. (agree) And yeah, guidelines, punishment and mods are going to be a necessary evil. We're human. We make jokes and say silly things! Someone is going to have to whip a few of us into submission! (wife) Stacy
  12. Nice! Your clam is gorgeous! I really like your aquascaping as well. It has a mountain vibe, with caves and crevices! I thought your pictures were good! BTW, the secret to great pictures is to take 100 to get 1 good one. Stacy
  13. That's what I was thinking. I just didn't want to say it as I figured someone much wiser than myself would speak up. Stacy
  14. Good to know that there are corrective masks! I used to wear contacts, but now that I've grown older and wiser I can't stand the things. So there's hope for me diving! Stacy
  15. So how far exactly can we go "out of bounds"? Do we have to behave and not post anything off color? By asking, don't get the idea that I'm wanting to post pornographic pictures. Can we be potty mouths? Can we post links to items that are of a more adult nature but with a warning? For instance, some of the things that I find gut-busting hillarious involve some stronger language. Can we discuss topics that have the potential of being offensive to others? Such as politics, or even rants if something made someone angry and they wanted to vent and possibly commiserate with other like-minded individuals. How do you guys want us to behave in "Out of Bounds"? I for one don't want to get axed from the boards for saying something that isn't within the guidelines of what is appropriate for this site. I also don't want to see others get the boot! The more the merrier is my motto! And I know the sponsors check out this site and I'm sure they might not be delighted if it becomes a "den of iniquity". Or a child asking his parent "What does (censored) mean?" So just some quickie guidelines! Language, adult situations, pictures (drawings or real), humor, inflammatory debates... I'm sure I'm forgetting something. That and I'm sure everyone's starting to wonder what kind of freak I am by asking all this controversial stuff! rofl I'm just trying to make our little internet home a happy place! Stacy
  16. Are you kidding! You can ramble on all you want! Thanks for the info! And you're right, I can't imagine anything better than being able to dive and see the wild reefs. Or even the myriad of other things you can explore and discover while diving. I suppose we need to find a dive shop and see what's what! Oh, hey... how do the four-eyes like Jay and I fare while diving? Do your glasses fog over so that you can't see anything at all? Stacy
  17. I tend to lean towards oranges and reds. You wouldn't know it by looking at my nano though. The mushroom rock I snagged from Jay's tank is purple. My orange cycloseris, however, is the crown jewel of my tank. Stacy
  18. It's kind of on topic yet kind of off topic as well, so I figured I'd post it over here. I know that there are several of you who are certified divers. My question is, do you have to be a really strong swimmer to dive? Jay wants to go diving in the worst way, and as horrified as I am at the thought of squeezing my carcass into a wet suit, I'd really like to make this happen for him. Silly man wants me to go with him. He must like me or something. I think with snorkeling you'd have to be a fairly strong swimmer since your air supply depends on your ability of reaching the waters surface at an opportune time. I might be wrong, but I think diving might be easier? Long story short... I took swimming lessons when I was a kid and wasn't a very strong swimmer/floater. Then it came cannonball off the board into the deep end day and I was terrified. Crying, refusing. An instructor walked up and shoved me in. I just about didn't make it to the top in time. Needless to say, the lessons ended and I'm not the strongest swimmer in the world for the effort. Not overly trusting as a result either! So I was just curious? Can a dog-paddler/weak swimmer learn to dive or do I need to learn to swim? Which there's a happy thought. All the kids can laugh at the nutty adult trying to learn to swim! DOH! Stacy

    funny

I will never look at ducks the same way! Here's a good one I just found: http://www.rathergood.com/angel/ I love the stuff at RatherGood. Funny! Remember the Quizno's commercial with the weird critters? That's from these guys. I would have posted a link to "Hedgehogs" or "Seepage", but I think I would have gotten yelled at! This one is pretty tame. Good stuff! If you haven't been, check 'em out. Stacy
