This was my best attempt at a stand for a 20 long. Even with my wife (Spayne) as my cheerleader. It is no comparison to the work you have completed, but I was happy with it. Your stand is very nice. Jay

I get mine from Airgas. Jay

Thanks Nyles, I think I will take you up on your offer. We will be gone for about 2 weeks for vacation, but I will be back the week of May 7th. Should be an easy fix. Thanks again for the advice. Jay

My old 72 bowfront's brace is broken. It is a very thin piece of plastic. Can I glue in a piece of acrylic to replace it? The brace was very flimsy to begin with. What do you think? I would like to sell this thing someday. Jay

The Chiller is a 1/2 HP PCI. I want to lower my halides to about 8" off the water. Should be no problem this year. I would have plumbed the chiller in, but I am going to be gone for almost 2 weeks. I didn't want a disaster to happen. I have read too many horror stories. I'll plumb it when I get back. That way my father-in-law doesn't have to worry about it. I am also going to replace all my submersible pumps for externals. Should help with the heat issue. Jay

I think Roger said it was a Tunicate. Not sure, but it was unique. Hopefully we can all become more involved in the educational side of this club. We talked with Roger about some interesting ideas to include his classes in some of our threads. Coral Identification was one idea. A picture of a coral could be posted, and the class could ask questions to our group to help them find the correct identification. Fun and educational. We could all learn something here. Roger is on to something here. Let's help any way we can. Jay

I'm all for the beer and cartoons. Nature ( and the planet for that matter ) will take care of itself. If we become too bothersome ( by polluting, and eroding our natural resources ), nature will take it's course and eradicate us. IMO, the planet will survive anything we throw at it. Whether we survive the cleansing process is yet to be determined. I am not saying that we should continue with wild abandon. We should be responsible. I am all for saving the planet, but what we are really talking about is saving ourselves, and our future generations. Jay

I also have a frag of pink milli, and a couple of german blue. Who knows what might break when I put my hands in the tank tonight. I'll keep you posted. Jay

I know I'm old, but how many people remember playing the original Zork. I honestly miss the days of "word" based gaming. The entire game was played out in your own mind. I might even get on the internet and see if I can dust off an old copy of Zork. There's nothing like the classics. I remember the feeling of exhiliration the first time I fired up DOOM. It was a pixilated mess, but in those days it was amazing. Jay

Reefhut, I sent the webmaster a PM to give you access. Jay

Ah ha, that makes sense. I used to have mine above the water, but now it is in the water. It does make a difference in your PH. I'll take it back out of the water and see how much it affects my PH. With it in the water I run from 8.05 to 8.20. Jay

I took my carbon off of my RO/DI unit to avoid this. My water tastes just fine even though I am not using the last stage of carbon. For what it is worth, I even took off the DI chamber. I was getting 0 TDS after the RO membrane, and after over a year, I am still getting a 0 TDS reading. My water starts out as only a 27 TDS so I guess I am just lucky. Jay
