drock59
Just ordered some 20K XM 250 watters and was curious if anyone out there was using them. I know they are blue but I like them blue.
WAVES
I have some SE ones in action at Waves. they are VERY blue and the PAR blows on XM 20k. I used 20k XM DE over the show tank before I started using Phoenix, I was very disappointed in the "brightness" of the tank.
drock59
That is what I have read but I figured I would give them a go and see what happens. Im kind of tired of the phoenix bulbs. As a matter of fact if this doesnt work out, I am considering going with XM 20K 400 watters over my tank and see how hot I can get things. CCR
XM are just fine. they will tone down some also. Had 3 400wt over the 150 and 2 over driven with HQI on the

drock59
An update for anyone interested. I really like the new bulbs. They are a bit on the blue side but they are 20K and my HQI ballast pushes them to a nice crisp blueish/white color.

They tend to get whiter after about a month, although I'm running mine on M135 Pulse Start ballasts. I have run just about every 400w bulb on the market and IMO the XM 20k is my favorite. R-3
I always though the XM's pretty good for a 20k bulb. I know the 15k's weren't received very well. I think they look great Dan. Keep us updated on the coral growth. Later Ryan

drock59
Mike, I tried my best on the color. I would say its even a bit more "crisp" and a smidge less blue than the picture....in other words, pretty ideal.

I too really like the way the color in your picture came out.
