Saltfishlover
So. A while back my wife wanted a two setups. Not sure if it's gonna be reef and seahorse or reef and fish only. This is the first time I've tried this. I have managed to build two stands to fit her vision. She now has a 40 and a 30 gal tied into a 20 gal sump I built. I need some practice but seems to be balanced well. Go easy on me with feedback. The 40 has a drilled overflow. The 30 was an established system with a diy overflow so I kept that to save money.

Higher Thinking
Nice work! As long as the sump can hold the overflow volume during power outages, you're good to go!
Saltfishlover
Yeah, it holds it. I wanted a longer low tank, but I think I would go with a 40, breeder or something larger. I left enough room to bring return pipes up if I need to. Plenty of flow for two tanks.
