spilo
Thanks bluez and Clark for helping me out with this... it's exactly what I needed.. inexpensive alternative to buying a new skimmer and it seems to be working great
caolewis
Buy a DC12000, a pinwheel and volute from me, and adapt it to the sro3000. BAM! DC powered beast! Do you have it? how much for that setup?

Saltwater newbie
That's what I want to see is how you hooked it together also what speed are you able to run the dc 12000 on that skimmer body.
spilo
I have it wide open
spilo
I had to use a piece off the bubbleblaster to hook it to the skimmer.. so if you don't have that pump it'll probably be harder...
spilo
I didn't actually glue any of it so I can move it around as needed
Saltwater newbie
It's not too much for that body wide open.
spilo
Nope... I mean I had to adjust the gate valve on the outfeed a bit... honestly havn't played with it a whole lot
Blue Z Reef
That's a lot of elbos, which is going to reduce the efficiency a bit, any reason you didn't go straight in?
spilo
Can I turn the housing that way?.. didn't even think to try it
spilo
If I can turn the housing I'll definitely do it.. I know elbows suck .. didn't think to try turning the housing... it would save some space too
Blue Z Reef
Oh yeah, the housing can be rotated around haha, I was wondering why you did that.

sdietz2469
Bubble blaster pumps had a 5 year warranty. Contact Coralvue, David should help you out. Just another option.
spilo
No telling how old mine is tho I bought it used
sdietz2469
If it is a common problem, they might still fix it. I bought several things used. Tunze is one that I never hesitate to buy used because Roger doesn't care if you bought it used, New, on ebay, or found in the side of the road, he stands behind the product. Coral Vue has in the oat treated me very well, might shoot an email. If anything he might offer you a discounted motor block and impeller.
