Bicyclebill
So before I break something trying to pull one of my pumps apart, has anyone already tried it? Is the impeller removable for cleaning? Should I simply soak the whole thing in vinegar and not take anything apart? I've done some searching and there is no clear answers that I can find. Blackice
Just soak in vinegar it cleaned mine to new looking after 6 months of use. And a tooth brush can get inside if you have to.
Blue Z Reef
I know my WPs are a pain to get apart but they twist lock apart. If your worried, vinegar soak is easy and no risk of breaking.
Kasasah
Doesn't vinegar make plastic brittle?

ChrisQ
hey Bill, if they twist off like the WP's just take a butter knife and carefully insert it all the way through leaving enough room for the impeller and twist (rock2)
Blue Z Reef
Chris...that's an epic tip lol, wish I thought of that sooner
wanareef
Not much room, just need strong hands/grip and it's just a 1/8 turn. The impeller does come out and I like to add some food grade silicone on the spots that turn
